I decided to take a break from Ori and the blind forest as the difficulty is growing exponentially and getting more and more frustrating. Metroidvania, I know, I know, but...

Started playing Fallout 4 and to be honest I'm not seeing any issue with the next gen update, except the screen getting brighter during dialogs. I don't know if it's a setting or something, but it's kinda annoying. Nothing that would make me stop playing though

@thegamerstavern This is the way with Ori. Have breaks, get back to it later ( or just don't ) to find yourself easily passing through the obstacles. I found myself in a similar situation right now and decided to let it rest for a few days.

All these news about Fallout 4 new patch, just pushing me even more to play it. I got also Fallout 3 installed. What should I play? First world word problems

@thegamerstavern I will be playing one more time....after all these years. The endless story 😆 . I also feel tempted to give it a go to on the Steam Deck to see what this latest next-gen patch brings up. If time after that, maybe will continue with as my chill game. Ever play a game and absolutely love it, but for whatever reason you take a break from it for a couple of days, and then you struggle to get back into it? Happened to me with Unicorn Overlord. I just can't be arsed any more it seems.

I put it on now and within 5 minutes I want to turn it off and play something else. No idea why but I'm just not digging it. I was loving it before!

@COMPU73E This also happens to me with very big titles ( Witcher 3, Baldurs gate ect ). I have lot of fun playing them but like most of the things in life, self pace is the key. You need breaks from them to get back with more energy or just don't get back.

One game I keep doing that along the years is Skyrim – play it for few weeks, stop for months, come back and play again for few weeks. That game managed to keep me back despite its years.

Tonight I finished Dragon‘s Dogma 1 after 42 hours

Quite interesting with no savegame management, you often have to live with your decisions or missed opportunities

  • Tales of Arise: I'm near the end and the gameplay reaches his peak! I can feel it now
  • Ori will of the wisps: Very casual, slow pace here. I will play it in small gaps if there's time

My backlog increased with the Steam spring sales, I wish I could have more time to play everything I got planned but hey, let's enjoy the game time we have :)

Continue with Tales of Arise, long overdue in my backlog of games. I'm still enjoying this game despite sometimes it turns into a movie with the long story sequences.

My second bullet on the list is for Advance Wars for more casual gaming and less demanding skills but still fun times ahead.

@thegamerstavern It works very well on the deck, most of the time over 40-60fps so very smooth experience.

It was getting dusty in my backlog so I decided to give it a chance and the game is visually beautiful with entertainment story. Combat system can be chaotic sometimes but still great mechanics.

How does Assassin’s Creed Origins and Odyssey run on thrn#steamdeck ? They are 8.99 and 11.99 but I wanted opinions before getting them.

@Aluminance I haven't tried myself but for what I read before in forums was about the game running pretty stable at 30 fps with all the graphics on high settings. The biggest down of these games is all the ubisoft connect and intermediate software they have, it seems makes the process of launching the game a hassle

I'm quite annoyed by all the "you don't own the games you buy" and the counter "then piracy is legal".

What's your take on this ?

My take is the first sentence is usually pronounced by someone who clearly hasn't anything to do with developing a game, creating a world, its lore and everything around. He needs to push sales and that's it.

The second sentence is an exaggeration, as it would leave said developers without a just reward for their work.

@thegamerstavern my concerns with all of this are going through these subscription models to access games vs owning physically the game. I don't have anything again the digital copies but the business models of some companies behind of it forecasts a gloomy gaming future. In the same way you go to a library and you access classic books for "free", we also need a place where you can play classic titles for free and even take them home with you for a few days.
