Everything up to the run was tough, but fine. The run was best described as suffering in motion. By the time I was done, there was a Humidex of 26°C, and I did not handle it well.

It's mid-May and it's too hot out in the morning. I know this is only going to get worse, short and long term.

Can we please have winter back?

HITT kicked my butt again this morning. Bike ride was lovely, with the few traffic lights I crossed mostly in my favour.

Accidentally picked a 10 minute HITT when I meant a 30 minute… so I did two, both of which were hard. 🤣

My running heart rate is up (~146 this run vs ~125-130). I think it’s the workouts beforehand and not completely recovering before the run.

Light rain was nice. I don't mind getting wet. It's like free cooling.

Very different today; both the HIIT and strength training felt easier/fun, and the ride was pretty good — and then it started to rain. 🤣 Honestly, it wasn't that bad, I don't mind getting wet. It certainly felt windier than the forecast indicated. 🤷🏻

Sunday: Slept in, went for a bike ride with @TAV, had brunch, did our groceries, biked home, and puttered around for a bit before watching Mean Girls (2004, better than I expected) and Wonder Woman (2017 - re-watch). Not a bad day. Zzzzzz

Saturday: Slept in, puttered around, and timing worked out for me to join the Critical Mass Ride through the city. Came across @jessrawk near the end, so I stopped to catch up.

The HIIT workout really was tough today; a bit too fast for me, but I managed.

This morning on my walk to my meeting, I saw one of those high-power scooters race (probably 40+km/hr) down St Patrick and completely blow the light at Dalhousie and was narrowly missed getting clipped by a car that had right-of-way.

No helmet, no gloves, or any other protection. That person is going to get themselves seriously injured in short order, methinks. 🤔

Today was the first day of in , so I went to the local Metro (Beechwood Ave), and after wandering the store, was absolutely flummoxed to discover that nearly everything we regularly purchase was less expensive at our local Loblaws (Rideau St).

I didn't see that coming. After thinking about it a bit, I suspect it might have to do with the location of the Metro (Beechwood/Rockliffe is well-to-do).

Will have to look at a map and see where the next closest one is. 🤔

…a few hours later, 6 km of for a meeting to go over some stuff from the shoot.

Pretty pleased this morning, after all the workouts, got the walking speed under 9 minutes per KM, so that made me happy at least. Knee still seems to be okay. 🤔

Can also confirm that I still do not like burpees (in HIIT). 🤣

There was a Mercedes sedan, windows up, parked illegally across the street with the stereo so loud, I could hear it indoors, with headphones on. They were only there a bit over ten minutes, so there was no point contacting bylaw. <sighs>

Wednesday: 131 seconds of plank, 11 minutes of yoga for runners, 30 minutes of strength training, 20 minutes of HIIT (), followed by 25 km of (7°C).

Went a further west along the Voyageurs pathway today and crossed back over on the Champlain bridge, which probably was a bad idea, given the traffic on it, but I was back onto bike paths once I got across.

Also spotted two moving O-Trains on the Trillium line. (soon, OC Transpo?).

Tuesday: 122 seconds of plank, 11 minutes of yoga, 30 minutes of HIIT, 21 minutes of strength, followed by 6.5 km of (7°C with wind gusts to 32km/hr).

The strength training really kicked my butt this morning, probably because @TAV picked it. 🤣

I was hoping for my stroll pace to get under 9 minutes/km, but not quite. I'll blame the wind. Knee felt okay, will resist running to Monday.

Sunday: slept in, 20km of with @TAV, and then tried Dhruvees for brunch as our regular spot was closed for a staff meeting. Did some cooking, and then watched The Meg 2, which is exactly as bad and fun as you’d expect.

Saturday: Slept about eleven hours, puttered around for a while, went for 26km of , including a stop at Lebreton Fields, to do some testing for an upcoming music festival, forgot to restart my watch until I was halfway home.

I tried dialingmy running back this week, and I think I have to try and take next week off completely and possibly book an appointment with my doctor to see what she thinks is going on.
