Note just by following a Threads user or replying to a post, Meta claims they are entitled to your personal data.

And what do they say they will do with your data? Provide you with "business services (including ads)."

@Pagan_Animist And my point was, that people act irrational, based on justified mistrust, that went off the rails.
They are more concerned meta could magically track them over the federation, that they don't even see, that this is impossible, unless your social media presence actually overlaps with insta, threads or facebook (and even then it wouldn't be really reliable, if it's even feasible at all).

As someone whose previous line of work was in the hotel industry, I have to say I find it very funny how many people, with the backlash against Airbnb, are just now discovering that extended stay hotels with full kitchens and multi-bedroom suites exist.

@TechConnectify @SweetLlamaMyth I know, this isn't exactly comparable, but I once contacted a camping park (either by email or by phone, I don't know anymore), that I'm arriving later than expected and they were pretty chill about it.

Just asking does help sometimes.

@i_Peter @SheDrivesMobility Sobald man mal von der Antriebstechnik absieht und das große Ganze betrachtet, ist die "Verkehrswende" eigentlich nur eine Antriebswende, in der Leuten weisgemacht wird, dass das energetisch ineffizienteste Fortbewegungsmittel plötzlich gut sei. Wenn alle Fahrzeuge auf elektrischen Antrieb umgestellt sind, wird das "eigene Auto" weiterhin Schlusslicht sein.

Barb Part done. It's a colorful fever dream and hilarious how they just ran with the premise and the "playing pretend"-logic. Not sure if children will really get it the social commentary bc it doesn't really explain it. But it's fine.

Darf ich es seltsam finden, wenn am Weltfrauentag in den Radionachrichten über eine Umfrage berichtet wird, laut der sich die Hälfte aller Männer benachteiligt fühlen?
Edit: Die Studie ist anscheinend umfassender, aber von einem Markt-/Meinungsforschungsinstitut... und die Ergebnisse sind entsprechend für maximale PR-performance aufbereitet.

1/2 Mein Besuch diese Woche in der alten Heimat, dem Ahrtal, fühlte sich erschütternderweise immer noch stellenweise wie an einem an. Wir werden wohl immer mehr davon bekommen, verbunden mit unermesslichem Leid, da wir wider besseres Wissen weiter viel zu viele Treibhausgase ausstoßen. 😔

Lustig, diese Leute, für die etwas erst dann ein Problem ist, wenn es sie "plötzlich" selbst betrifft.
Mit allen anderen kann man machen was man will, sogar Dinge, die man mit sich selbst niemals machen lassen würde.

Ebenfalls lustig: Diese Leute, die sich über Arbeitszeitverkürzung, 4-Tage-Woche etc. freuen würden, aber wehe, eine Gewerkschaft, der man selbst nicht angehört fordert, das tatsächlich ein.

It doesn't make sense to have this without an opt-in/opt-out option.
This feature is nifty if you want another option to promote your account/blog/whatever, but other than that... no?

I expanded the list of blocked instances a bit by importing a blocklist that catches at least the worst of the worst.

This was much easier than collecting and applying manually.

Most of those Instances are already known as toxic hellpits, so I only needed to check those I didn't knew about already.
