Trump is getting booed at the Libertarian National Convention

aaron.rupar,

"We saw a lot of applause for the president. Some people who were, ah, offering a couple of boos for the policies, not directly at, going towards, President Trump" -- Right Side Broadcasting's spin of Trump getting booed

Wow. Mike Lee is jeered at the Libertarian convention when he makes a pitch for Trump.

Hakeem Jeffries on MSNBC: "It's important for the American people to understand that if Roe can fall, anything can fall. Social Security itself can fall. Medicare can fall. The ACA can fall. Democracy can fall... Everything we care about is going to be on the ballot in November."

Trump to Fox & Friends: "We're gonna win New York. And if we win New York, the election's over. We take over the country. We take over the country."

Rick Scott on Fox Business says he thinks Trump will turn NY red because a woman from the Bronx at his hotel told him all her neighbors support Trump.

"They are fed up with the migrants," host Cheryl Casone replies.

Do we have Peggy Noonan’s 'Lawn Sign Report’ yet?

There’s no poll as accurate as Noonan’s FEELINGS and SENSES.

New in PN: "If Trump returns, it’s likely he and his minions will push to abolish the 22nd Amendment and its max of two terms for presidents — in fact Project 2025 is already scheming to do just that. Don’t have to take it from us. Listen to the man himself." https://www.publicnotice.co/p/trump-third-term-nra-speech-dallas

There was a serious movement in the Republican Party during the Reagan administration to abolish the 22nd amendment. When it was pointed out that is was the republicans who got the amendment passed, a spokesman said, "Yeah, but we didn't know a Reagan would come along". The effort ended with the Iran Contra affair.

"The unfortunate truth is that Republicans, under Trump’s influence, no longer accept that Democrats can legitimately win elections. This isn’t a run of the mill ideological difference between the parties. It’s the ruin of American democracy." -- @ser1897

@aaron.rupar

Umm ya, maybe this is because the GOP can't legitimately win elections with their crazy anti-democratic authoritarian agenda.

New in PN: "Lately, Republicans have been getting one simple question: 'Will you accept the results of the 2024 election, regardless of its outcome?' Their responses keep exposing that election denialism has taken over the party."

Sen. Tommy Tuberville on Fox Business pushes the great replacement conspiracy theory that has inspired mass shooters and claims "it's all a plan. It's all a plan that started with Barack Obama -- transition the country to something else."

aaron.rupar,

Tommy Tuberville: "The unemployment rates of all people in the country were very very low under Donald Trump, but not under this president." (The unemployment rate when Trump left office was over 6 percent -- it's now been under 4 percent for two years.)

If you are a person who prefers democracy to authoritarian, support Joe Biden. Full stop.

It's largely forgotten now, but 4 years ago the Trump White House was heavily hinting that they planned to arrest Obama to distract from their egregious mishandling of covid.

Trump is now a big proponent of total presidential immunity (for him).

The video below, where then-Press Sec McEnany is asked a staged question about pardoning Obama for "Obamagate," is from 4 years ago today 👇

Marco Rubio on Fox & Friends can barely hide that he's rooting for a terrorist attack before November

I've been saying forever that I will bet money on there being terrorist attacks before the election.

That's how Putin does it.

New in PN: "The most charitable reading is that after a neighbor accused Mrs. Alito of being an insurrection enthusiast, she reacted by hoisting a symbol of support for insurrection. A Supreme Court justice’s wife is busy acting out the Matt Bors comic where a MAGA type reacts to hearing someone say Trump fans are racist by going full Nazi."
