Ever finish hearing a song and wish you had a shaker (the percussion instrument)? Not exactly a big tent track, but certainly a dance banger. From Kenya, to Brazil, to you.

Oh great, the SAP clone project people changed the requirements again.

ado,

@volpeon I am a slow coder these days and a lot of it is this stubbornness to clean things up as I go. I hear the frustration in your toot, ahh.

I haven't really been following the bridge debate too closely, but regardless of what that developer does or doesn't do re opt-in:

What, technically, would stop someone building a bridge from some outside network to the Fediverse? Whatever their intentions, good or bad?

ado,

@danjac or scraping the whole Fedi without announcing it and having a GitHub where people could communicate.

It seems like people forgot they were on the internet!

I like this server AND I wish I was on a bigger one so I could meet more folks. Mastodon makes it hard to do this, I feel like I need multiple accounts.

ado,

One issue is that when I look at who other folks follow (because what better way to find new people), those lists don't federate. So I end up opening up the remote server, not logged in, looking at the local feed, copying usernames to follow into my logged-in-tab.

Let the games begin!

Way outside my usual league with a New England DIPA. Big citrus hoppy, pairs well with the Smokey ribs and spicy chicken!

If I have to enter a boxing match and it's not to be the skirt-wearing person announcing every match, then the music must be Firewind - The Fire and the Fury

Not hanging up my pumps though.

Sullen, rain-soaked heavy metal fronted by the superlative Christine Davis.

Christian Mistress - Omega Stone is a slow build, about three minutes of moping before breaking purgatory.

If you're not really a "metalhead" but still enjoy some dadrock, you may still enjoy this.

And if slow isn't your vibe, go fast.

Chunky, campy heavy metal - Canadian rifflords Sword are the kind of music I want to hear at your party.

Turn it up until someone is clenched fist jamming. Excellent use of motorcycle sound samples.

Here's a pig
With a wig
A pig with a wig, and a cat with a hat
And a dog with a log and a hen with a pen ...

They must all be whirling around a circle. Some very odd trip-hop electronic goodness. Kersplash - in the pond.

A Winged Victory for the Sullen has a wide discography. I was introduced to them with their self-titled album, which has fantastic song titles like We Played Some Open Chords and Rejoiced, for the Earth Had Circled The Sun Yet Another Year.

An indeed this song is gentle open chords over ambient soundscapes. Much of the album is a textural joy, easy to make its way through tension and density.

And if that song title doesn't grab you, there's always Steep Hills of Vicodin Tears to reel you in. Highly recommended!

Always excited for #ThursdayFiveList, reading others' lists is an excellent addition to my day.

For #TheSilence -

Start off heavy with Necrophobic - The Nocturnal Silence. Nothing silent about this track 🐐.

A couple renditions from OST favorites including FF8,
Nobuo Uematsu - Silence and Motion

And Chrono Trigger,
Yatsunori Mitsuda - Silent Light

Leaving the games aside for some progressive metal fronted by the talented DC Cooper
Royal Hunt - Silent Scream

Complete your sonic exploration with Kamelot - Silent Goddess. Power metal with all the ingredients!

As I said yesterday, I don't want to spoil the 1001 albums list for anyone doing it randomly. That said, I did mention Beck is on it, that should be obvious, I believe I saw at least 3 Beck albums.

I'm excited to see/hear when people listen to the Beck ones. Please talk to me more about Beck. hahaha

ado,

@jake4480 I don't have context for the 1001 but Odelay! Is a great album, very creative!

Think I’m going to have to redo the alerter for . Thinking we will make it a terraform just deciding if I want to delve into the ECS route or just make an EC2.
I’m also debating making it an AWS lambda but have to calculate costs for that and a dynamoDB table to store the time to know if it has already run within the time constraint.
But it needs to move off the raspberry pi.

ado,

@chiefgyk3d you get a decent amount of dynamo and lambda for free, it'll be the networking costs that will end up hitting you for a couple bucks each month :p

Following hashtags can be a strained experience on ActivityPub. Hashtags can be placed on any content, and sometimes content is genuinely diverse and complex.

For these reasons, hygiene (proper tagging) and habit (doing it all the time) of the users of ActivityPub matters a lot.

Perhaps when viewing the ActivityPub stream, my server should be able to re-tag some content - in case I disagree with how and item has been tagged.

It may be useful to present this re-tagging to other servers. This could fight disinformation as well, not merely miss-tagged posts.

There was a timeline where we all adopted makefiles instead of dockerfiles

Every time I post link aggregators, I wish the Fedi clients could decompose them. So you could more easily go from muh link to yer app without another website as a single point of failure in between the actual destination.
