@AnthonyJK from the outside looking in, I don't understand how anybody can choose to live in that country. If I were American I would have left years ago. Anybody with at least a uni degree should be making their exit ASAP. Let the country collapse from the brain drain while the rest of the world benefits.

@AnthonyJK that all sounds awful. i come from a pretty low-income country but everyone still gets an education and can speak several languages from birth so they are able to get around and be mobile if desired. corporations in your country have locked you all in making it too expensive to escape

@itorres @Migueldeicaza There are more people contributing to the FOSS tools that RHEL uses than RHEL employees and contractors. A huge chunk of FOSS tools used in modern GNU/Linux OSes comes from unpaid volunteer developers (I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than 50%). Reddit's content came from its userbase, which is what brought in more users, which is monetizeable. With no user-generated content, Reddit might as well not exist. Without volunteer devs, Redhat might as well not exist.

Please worry about the blocks on your own instance and don’t force them onto others. That’s why they chose to run their server and not join yours😘

As user you can block individual people and even complete domains(instances). Instance admins/mods can do the same on instance level. That should be enough to moderate content you’ll see

But for the love of cats, stop with dictating terms to other instances..

If another instance won't defederate with neonazis, they are implicitly allowing it. "All that is needed for evil to triumph is for a good person to do nothing."

@thunderbird @libreoffice love these ideas, especially #3. I think integration of desktop apps is the main thing missing from desktop Linux. Microsoft actually does a great job of it; I have to use Windows at my job, and am grateful for how easy they make working between applications. I use Fedora at home and have customized my workflow using plugins and scripts and everything else but it would be great for integration to come out-of-the-box.

Our little planter in the backyard has all sorts of things blooming currently. Gladiolas, lilies, chrysanthemums and zinnias. Then the rose is just outside of the planter.

I'm very happy to have such a planter as it's something I've never really had as I've not lived in a big enough house with a big enough yard for the last 15+ years to have such things.
