It was the norm to read the damn rules and lurk for a while to get your head around the culture of the place.

Yes, I'm old. Perhaps that's why fedi is majority #GenX. We've done this kind of thing before and it's not that big of a deal.

I bought a pair of cheap plaid fleece pyjama pants when I was in the US in 2012, which I've thrashed to death, and finally had to replace the elastic.

Now I don't lose the damn things in the middle of the night 😂

But I have questions. If I'd bought them in NZ, and worn them for over a decade, they'd be DEAD by now. There's no fucking way they would have lasted.

I bought these fuckers at a discount store - maybe a dollar type store? HOW WERE THEY SO WELL MADE? The label was completely faded out so I don't know where they were made, but in 11 years, not a single broken stitch or hole that wasn't a cigarette burn (a habit I've long since kicked).

Hey it's been a while! I've been lacking the fandom spoons recently, so I haven't had much to document, but they're slowly coming back.

Writing

Picked up Profane again, after a fuckton of time spent not writing at all. Hopefully I'll get it done this time.

Watching

I'm on a big Star Trek kick right now. Marathoned TNG already and now I'm onto DS9.

Otherwise I'm watching Silo, From, Yellowjackets, The Power, and Rise of The Pink Ladies.

Fandom

AO3 is in the dogbox, for reasons I can't go into due to not having the spoons, but it's disappointing.

An upside is the resurgence of fandoms desire for personal fic archives and not having all your eggs in one basket. Neocities is the site most are going with (thank you, fandom, for not picking dreamwidth because the capture issues would make linking to DW fic extremely problematic), which is where my personal archive began!

Check out posting, sharing, and saving fic outside of Ao3 by Satsuma. Lots of useful links within, like how to make your own fic archive and there's even a webring! (webrings are SUPER FUCKING COOL)

Reminds me, I need to get back to uploading fic. I've still got a hundred or so stories to get up here before I'm done 👀
