Flipboard has created a newsletter on LinkedIn called “Fedicurious”. The fediverse has made it to LinkedIn.

A new fediverse iOS app called fedicat @technicat (TestFlight) has a feature I’m calling “bloosts” which is a boost and a like in one button. I love it.

Now I want a “bloostmark” that boosts, likes and bookmaks a post at the same time. 😅

I have been testing low visibility accessibility on websites I visit, just to see what the experience is like.

Voice over is very easy to enable on a Mac with a magic keyboard. Clicking your touch id button quickly 3 times turns voice over on, and 3 times again turns it back off. Excellent shortcut that makes it easy to include in your development process.

Been on the TestFlight of this one. @feeeed is incorporating content from everywhere. While the configuration options says “Mastodon Handle” any fediverse handle I’ve thrown at it works so far.

PeerTube. Lemmy. Firefish. IceShrimp. Friendica. Threads. All alongside blog feeds, Reddit, YouTube, news services, personal photos, birthday reminders and more. The only thing missing is the ability to interact - like or reply direct from the interface. ❤️🥳

A video of an iPad showing the feeed app. A Catodon.social account is added to the feed and shows up immediately, alongside personal blogs, photos, pixelfed accounts and more.

I'm gay/cis and in some situations, passing for whatever straight means if you don't look too close at my sparkles.

But not when I visit my rural hometown.

I know what it is to be bullied. To be dismissed by loved ones. That sinking feeling you get in your stomach when you realize you don't feel safe somewhere.

I also know that is nothing in comparison to what others continue to battle.

Safe spaces are precious things and even I forget that sometimes.

It's good to be reminded.

One thing people are missing on the discussion of link previews for Mastodon is they aren't always an image + title. oEmbed scripts are also downloaded to Mastodon, not just the image and title.

3rd party apps mostly ignore these embeds which is a shame in my opinion. If you use the official Mastodon app or web UI, you will see them. Here's an example of a fun one (View this post on the official Mastodon App or website to see it)

We need to uplift and encourage people who create kindness in their daily lives.

@Mrfunkedude An older woman working at my local grocery store asked me timidly if I needed any help. I didn’t really, but something told me she needed me to need help. I told her I needed cool whip and we walked around talking and looking for it. I thanked her for her help and she walked away with a smile on her face.

I work from home full time. I spend 8 hour plus extra at night sometimes for study sessions / programming hobbies. Fairly regular sized person, looking for back support - I currently sit at the edge of my seat for some reason. Probably not good.

Willing to spend some money on this, although I will mumble and grumble about it.

@jnv I found an Aeron for dirt cheap - company going out of business. Had to go pick it up immediately. They had 35 chairs and sold out right after I got there. Thanks for the recommendation!

@dtgeek Even when I was reading these comics in the early 80s as a kid I remember thinking Midge was in a very dangerous situation. It wasn't funny.

What if Midge was using Moose as muscle for some Sopranos level evil scheme. She was smart and needed the brawn to protect her. Surprised that didn't make it into Riverdale.

@dtgeek I wonder if I have any of those old Archie comics sitting around somewhere - we inherited them from our older cousins, so we were reading 1960 / 70s Archie comics in the 80s. Same with Charlie Brown paperback collections.

I’m rewatching Ugly Betty as a comfort show when I have downtime. So far it has held up, but reserving final recommendations until I get a bit deeper in.

I forgot there is a transgender storyline. It’s treated a bit comically with some truths sprinkled here and there. To be fair, that describes the show as a whole.

But oof some slang that should not have made it in.

Also, of course the actress wasn’t trans.
