My wife and I are looking at options for roof storage for a S.

For context, we are not really outdoorsy people so this space would basically be used for luggage, cooler, air mattress, etc when going on trips. We have three kids so one is always in the third row and we don't want to always have to put a seat down and shove everything in beside the poor kid.

I know that I would need crossbars if I'm going to do any sort of cargo box so I have some in mind (Snailfly)

@boardgamebreakdown you don't have a hitch receiver do you? I think a hitch tray/cargo carrier makes more sense in most cases.

Searching for car seats for the baby. There are actual seats with apps (!!!) that notify you on your phone if you leave your child in the car unattended.

@rootcompute I had that to a lesser degree when I had to come into the office today. I arrived before everyone else and it was just calm and I could play music without headphones and get stuff done before meetings.
Of course, there are many problems with needing to be in the office in the first place, but a small win is still a win. ;)

I decided to quit caffeine altogether about 4 days ago, as I was drinking upwards of 500-1000mg a day.

Luckily the headaches aren't that bad, the holy hell.. the brain fog is serious.

The instant sleep improvements are so worth it, though.

the hotel I'm staying at appears to have the walls made from something just a little bit less effective at blocking noises than paper.

two days ago I could hear someone snoring at night, and in the morning someone's phone vibrating.

15 minutes after starting ice fishing with friends today, my phone fell off my lap and directly into one of the holes we had augured out. The kids had a great time but I spent most of it kicking myself for not putting the phone back in my pocket.

@vees @jorijn I can't yet bring myself to buy a flashlight that requires a rechargeable battery. Despite the many other devices I have that require charging, my brain just refuses to give up AA and AAA as power sources for flashlights and headlamps. Eventually they'll probably be relegated to a very limited selection but for now I'm going to be the "kids these days!" guy. 😆

Also, I think this discussion is approaching what @jorijn was referring to as "intense." LOL

It's good though, because you wouldn't think that something as mundane as a flashlight could be specialized but they really have become like multitools or SAKs.
