I like to talk about music I am listening to, and music that I am making. I use a lot of open source tools for this.

    Not sure why, but today is the day I remember an author speaking to my class in high school. My answers were good, but pessimistic.

    He looked me in the eye and said something like, "Some day you will learn that cynicism is far too easy to be worthwhile."

    Fifteen year old me had no idea what to do with that. I couldn't really fathom what he meant and I didn't feel like I was taking the easy way.

    It ends up they were being nuanced. Talking isn't enough sometimes and I didn't really get their point until I heard the Thompson Twin's cover of "Revolution" by the Beatles.

    I hate advertisements so much.
    This is the main reason I don't have cable. I couldn't wrap my brain around the concept of paying for content full of ads.

    I paid for youTube premium but I'm about to give up on that too since you may skip the inserted ads there are still all of the sponsors. And I can't be mad at creators for wanting to make some money but I really need to escape these ads.

    Because ads work -- most people assume they don't but they do. They change you.

    @futurebird I have spent far to many days wondering why everybody was worried about a certain thing or trend to realize that I've had shields up.

    Without the constant pressure of false perceptions of inadequacy, I actually have a chance to work on things that matter. Like finding substance over things.
