Despite this 72% of leave voters would still vote leave and the same number want people to stop talking about . I suppose they don't want reminding about their stupidity.

When we rejoin I'll stop mentioning it.

Only 18% of leave voters think Brexit has been a success, poll finds

I disagree with on many things, but one thing we do agree on is the utter calamity that is . All progressives must expose the stupidity of Brexit and work to https://tinyurl.com/3b2tp6ph

@Gordonbp @pennine that's true for some, but many, including my most brexit support friend have changed their tune, and in my friend's case apologised and regrets his support for BREXIT. This is someone who was 100% behind brexit, convinced the EU held us back.

Still does my head that thanks to Truss Johnson and Cameron are now battling for 2nd and 3rd in the worst PM ever competition.

May is probably the "best" Female PM.

chrisgerhard,
@chrisgerhard@toot.bike avatar

@sarajw the terrifying part is you find yourself contemplating that Thatcher may have been the best female PM.

You know that myth about tories being financially competent?

It's a lie.

They gamble with other people's money.

What browser can I use now that firefox on ubuntu has become unusable with it's constant restarts for updates? It restarted while I was updating the settings on my router, leaving the router in an undefined state. There is no way to continue using once it's decided to update. I hate to go back to chrome and have google spy on me, but firefox has become unusable

chrisgerhard,
@chrisgerhard@toot.bike avatar

@losttourist I think you are right. It appears Ubuntu treats every update of Firefox as a security update so always applies them.

chrisgerhard,
@chrisgerhard@toot.bike avatar

@losttourist @falken it's only because I know a small amount about security that I did not just turn off updates completely. I'm sure others will. With luck thanks to https://toot.bike/@mattias/110467920462247789 I have a solution. We will see

    I've seen a bare handful of posts which are favourable about the coronation event. Far more have been (rightfully, IMHO) critical, with a focus on cost, and on the detention of protestors using dangerous new police powers.

    I wonder how history will recall this event. The gilded pomp and circumstance in the face of food banks, unmaintained roads, and detention of critics?

    If the comes in in the UK and requires us to seek age verification, thus increasing the likelihood that we would need to store personal records for users, then we will be shutting down our site and absolutely not participating in that process. This is a recipe for a privacy disaster. We take great pride in storing as little as possible of your personal information and don't want to store more just because a fascist government wants even more control then they already do.

    chrisgerhard,
    @chrisgerhard@toot.bike avatar

    @neil @baseseagsaidh isn't it going to have a chilling effect. Rather than run the risk sites will just shut down for UK users. As with the cookie popups people will believe they need them when they don't.

    A broadband company that replies to an email asking if they support ipv6 in less than 4 minutes is probably worthy of consideration. Even more so when the answer is yes.
