Die Lehrergewerkschaft GEW in Niedersachsen hat eine Null-Toleranz-Grenze bei Gewalt gegen Lehrkräfte gefordert. Im vergangenen Jahr gab es laut LKA 159 Fälle von Körperverletzung. 🧑‍🏫

Seit der Corona-Zeit seien Frust und Defizite im Sozialverhalten unter den Jugendlichen deutlich spürbarer als vor der Pandemie. 🦠

@NDR Die Gewaltfälle gehen also von 197 auf 159 zurück verglichen mit der Zeit vor der Pandemie, und das ist buchstäblich der vorletzte Satz im Artikel?

Ich meine, wie immer bei Gewalt "mehr als null ist schlecht", aber einen RÜCKGANG so hoch zu jubeln finde ich fragwürdig.

@hope_n_beauty Ich laufe hier seit Jahren regelmäßig an einer Gesamtschule vorbei, die seit ich hier Wohne praktisch keine Renovierungs- oder Baumaßnahmen hatte. Die Schule war schon in ziemlich desolatem Zustand und verfällt seither vor sich hin. Ein unausgesprochenes aber völlig offensichtliches FUCK YOU an die junge Generation.

Wenn ich als Schüler auf so eine Schule gezwungen würde, würde ich vermutlich auch auf alle möglichen und unmöglichen Arten rebellieren.

@risk @NDR ob die Qualität der Angriffe sich verändert hat, kann ich aus dem Artikel nicht herauslesen. Ja, es werden bestürzende Übergriffe berichtet. Übergriffe die ich keinem Lehrer/keiner Lehrerin wünsche. Aber in der halbgaren Form dann in Überschrift, Anreißertext und SocialMedia Bildchen keine Einordnung zu machen, das finde ich geht am Anspruch an Journalismus doch ein Stück vorbei.

Got back from a trip visiting family on the east coast and found my new eBay score had shown up!

MultiLane ML4039-BTP 100G BERT. Four channels of calibrated PRBS generator and receiver up to 30 Gbps per lane. Should be very useful for validating a lot of my high speed projects with SFP+ (and, in the future, SFP28) interfaces and my probes.

Headless half width 2U form factor with IP remote control, perfect for my space constrained lab. The software is Windows only and doesn't work under WINE but I can live with that.

It was listed as "new, open box" and I got it for about a third of MSRP. Just to be on the safe side, let's open it up before plugging it in. It's clearly been used at least a little since there's dust visible on the fan.

It is also annoying because the only reason not to support second hand devices is simply greed.

And that was perfectly good devices end up in a landfill.

@azonenberg Wow! This is such a shortsighted way to treat everyone.

The original customer now has a much harder time selling used hardware - and with devices like these, resale value is absolutely a valid thought to have. This makes competitors look better automatically.

And as a used buyer you may never even get to try that company's products. Making it less likely that you convert to a customer down the line.

Everyone loses. Including the manufacturer.

So. Ich habe gerade die Domain digitalcourage.social für mich geblockt. Dort geht man nicht gegen Hass-Poster vor, man reagiert weder auf Meldungen auf dem offiziellen Weg, noch auf öffentliche Posts. Es gibt keine Antworten, kein Feedback, keinerlei Transparenz. Im Gegenteil: Der Hass-Poster bleibt unbehelligt, seine Hass-Postings, die meinen Namen enthalten, stehen immer noch online. In Summe ist das schlimmer als Xitter. Ich empfehle jeder*m aus reinem Selbstschutz, diese Instanz zu blocken.

Das stört mich schon ne Weile:
In diversen Posts behaupten Leute, dass man sich nahezu garantiert mit Sars-CoV-2 ansteckt, wenn man für n paar Minuten ohne Maske in der Nähe von Infizierten sitzt.

Ich frag mich, wie die darauf kommen. IIRC hatte n Abendessen mal ne Attack Rate von ~50%, bei ner Chorprobe 2020 war die Attack rate 80% (unter immunologisch naiven!), und selbst bei gezielter Infektion mit Virus direkt in die Nase infizieren sich bei weitem nicht alle.

Da gehen wir ja immer vom Ur-Typ aus, und die jeweils neueren Varianten waren doch jeweils auch immer infektiöser, oder?

Haben wir denn irgendwas aktuelleres als Erhebungen von 2020? Also wo zirkulierende Varianten und eine Teil-Immune Gesellschaft zugrunde liegt? Würde mich tatsächlich für die Risikoabschätzung im Herbst und Winter interessieren.

@MBrandtner der Vergleich ist gut: Wenn ich längere Zeit raus muss schaue ich nach dem Wetter. Wenn die Regenwahrscheinlichkeit hoch ist, nehme ich den Schirm zumindest mit.

Genau so habe ich weiterhin immer eine Maske dabei, und wenn es eng/drängelig/stickig wirkt, benutze ich die auch.

I do NOT want to join your server of 400+ people I do not know and have no desire to talk to because you wouldn't link me your GitHub or site directly or put necessary information in your README for a thing I just want to download and use.

Please, for the love of Celestia STOP doing this. IF your server gets deleted, that information is GONE. If Discord shuts down, that information is GONE. If someone doesn't want to join a 400+ person chat room, they're SCREWED. PLEASE STOP.

@Carbonara As one that is often suggested to people starting out with linux, Ubuntu very much is in a place to be compared to windows. And as one of the most common distributions out there, maybe tied with Arch, I really think it is fair to bring it up in this case.

I could also cite the most used product containing the linux kernel if you like, android, and this very much also contains a TON of ads and tracking.

@Carbonara ask 1000 people if they ever even heard of GrapheneOS or /e/ or Lineage. As for Fedora/PopOS etc, yes they are starting to be recommended, but Ubuntu still very much is the biggest animal around, especially for people who don't want to tinker with their systems.

@nirik Same with twitter. While it was somewhat reasonable to say "we report outages ... via our twitter account", when that twitter profile (including its most recent posts) was visible without login, this simply can't be done any longer.

They confirmed to me what you are saying is indeed true.

I am not really satisfied with the explanation why this would have to be the case, and that teacher also could not really point to anything but "I know this", but now at least I have a second confirming opinion.

I will admit that I was wrong, regardless, even If I (still) can't point to a good primary source.
