@darnell@darnell I wish I knew more about fusion so I knew how significant this was. I want to be excited about it, but fusion has been edging closer for so long at this point it could outlast Sting at an orgy.
@darnell I have moments of reservation when I get on a Boeing plane at this point. I can't imagine trusting my life with them getting me into space. Then again I think people are way too optimistic about the reliability of all manned spacecraft systems we've ever built, yes including the SpaceX capsule. Invariably we get into a sense of complacency until someone dies or nearly dies.

I think there's a decent chance we'll get half of these ideas done in 2024 and the other half in 2025 though not just on our own but as part of a collective effort by multiple parties in the expanding fediverse.
