#EightBitBangers is too good of a theme and I have too many wonderful memories of our #NES to not participate.

The first ever game I played on our NES was "River City Ransom" or "Street Gangs" as it was called in Austria.

The first act of the day was an Austrian band called #Dusk. Spoiler alert: they were my discovery of the evening.

We didn't know them, and were really impressed! They play some kind of psychodelic fantasy pagan themed heavy metal, you should check them out:

When I was born, a lot of bands and genres started to take off. #Madonna was on the rise, #DuranDuran were big, #BonJovi released their debut, but also #ThrashMetal was determined to conquer the world.

Another thing that was big was #HairMetal, so here is a fine example of joyfully cheesy heavy sounds:

My first ever concert was back in 2001 when I saw Linkin Park on their first international tour.

They were supported by two bands, however I don't remember any songs of the first one. Turns out it was #LinkinPark themselves dressed like Slipknot just making some noises.
