For #Indonesians, by the way my former thesis supervisor John Roosa's 2022 book Buried Histories: The Anticommunist Massacres of 1965-1966 in Indonesia has just been released in Indonesian translation by Marjin Kiri, translated by Hendarto Setiadi: https://marjinkiri.com/product/riwayat/
Released as a standalone single in 1989, "Love Less" is considered a fan favorite amongst New Order's extensive catalog. The track features the band's signature blend of electronic and danceable rock elements. Its lyrical content delves into themes of heartbreak and lost love.
#GreatAlbums1980s - #NewOrder - Substance 1987 (1987). Although not a studio album proper, this double LP marked the first appearance of many of New Order's classic singles on LP.
"Ceremony," "Blue Monday," "True Faith," "State of the Nation," are 80s dance music's basic repertoire -- songs brimming with imagination and energy. Darkness looms in some, recalling the members' roots as 3/4 of Joy Division.
If you like 80s pop or electronic music, this is your true White Album.
Ask your doctor today if Bowl O' Plastic is right for you! The next step in my #Thrixels madness is seamlessly joining multiple panels together to support larger mosaics. Here's a test with no extra clearance - not only is there a gap, it's exacerbated by the tiles pushing the thin substrate walls outwards, so those will have to be cut away in the next attempt.
That metal pin is from the #GravisGamePad project - I will need to find a different "dowel" material.
Whether you're into #3DPrinting, or a fan of #BlueMonday by #NewOrder, you'll want to check this video out. This is a fully 3D printed tile mosaic system that can be extended seamlessly, with any colours you can print the tiles with.
My video shooting and editing skills are rudimentary at best, but I think it tells the story I wanted to tell - let me know if you'd want to see more videos like this!
This song is about the universal shared sentiment of soldiers who are deployed to wars, far away & the longing to return, to their families.
It's an upbeat track with very somber messages.
I also just listened to the #SongExploder about #BlueMonday, and it is one of the best episodes. It is wonderful hearing all the little parts of the song come together. My favorite part is now none of the three remaining band members who formed #NewOrder wanted to take over as singer, and they just chose Bernard because his disinterested attitude towards the whole thing sounded interesting. https://songexploder.net/new-order
