@jeffowski I mean, sometimes it does. I'd argue that in some cases, though, that exchange of rights is more than justified. When someone gains the right to protection against hatespeech, someone else loses the right to make that hatespeech free of consequence from the government. When people who have been enslaved are freed, gaining the legal right to self determination, slavers lose the legal right to their dominion over the aforementioned people. Many more examples

    We totally ran out of candy by 7:30, and I had bought a whole case. One little boy was dressed as a triceratops, and he was so excited there was another Dinosaur, he didn't want to leave. Several of the smaller kids were a little scared at first, but warmed up to him eventually. One adorable little princess wanted to give him a hug, and so then they all did. The older kids thought he was an animatronic, so he got some really good jump scares out of them. Totally jealous I didn't get a Dinosaur mask too!
