I'm currently reading Blake Gopnik's biography of Andy Warhol. Fascinating book. But it does confirm my belief that art in the 21st century really needs to be released from the grip of the gatekeepers, collectors, and academics.

The tools and means of distribution for many artforms in the digital space are now available for anyone, essentially for free.

Let's take a page from punk history: "Now form a band".

I have barely played a note since the pandemic came. I lost the heart to play music. I had to drop out abruptly from the orchestra in March 2020, and I'll probably never get to do that again.

I realized tonight- for me to be truly whole, for me to heal from what the pandemic did to me as a health care provider- I have to play music. @flockofnazguls was right. (1/2)

In my mind, there is no market explanation for Big Data. There is no market for AI that makes sense. These things cannot possibly make money on the scale necessary to repay their costs, which have been enormous already.

There are however, very clear oppressive political uses for data gathering, and flooding the market with lies that look like the truth, and seeding distrust of news, and making it impossible to search for trustworthy information.

Yeah, so I made this in #KoalaSampler using audio snippets from 1971 TV commercials including a ludicrously stretched out sample of Joanne Worley laughing, a woman talking about Lipton Tea, and a car commercial.

All turned into a menacing sci-fi #horror track.
