There are some new docs from Apple to go with the new features enabled by Apple Pencil Pro — they're well-written, and they have workable sample snippets with a SwiftUI/UIKit toggle.

https://developer.apple.com/documentation/applepencil/playing-haptic-feedback-in-your-app?changes=latest_minor

https://developer.apple.com/documentation/applepencil/handling-squeezes-from-apple-pencil?changes=latest_minor

Very much appreciate this format!

Also a note from the HIG about new trackpad haptic support: "Apple Pencil Pro and some trackpads can provide haptic feedback when connected to certain iPad models"

foon,
@foon@mastodon.social avatar

@stroughtonsmith in particular I love the “use feedback intentionally” section as a corrective to the way I see every developer using haptics, this should be in bold on the top level of the docs

Does anyone have a recommendation for a with recepies from ? or any other?

Could be in English, German or Norwegian.

The vegan cookbooks I habe bought or lent focus very much on European, American or Asian food, but I would love to try different things.

The first time I ate these ‘fire noodles’ my lips swelled but it was so delicious I kept eating them.

Now it’s something I eat for fun.

I get the 2x spicy because I need to feel something

(Type Fire noodle challenge in YouTube!)

Partly it’s ’I love spicy food’ and partly it’s ’I’m terrified I’ll lose my ability to eat spicy food and then I’ll be embarrassed when I go home)

@skinnylatte when I eat this the tears are both joy and pain

It's a weird subject for Last Week Tonight to cover, but I think I pretty much agree with Oliver's take on UFOs? More or less, there's weird shit out there, it's mostly pretty boring, and something we should apply scientific reasoning to.

Speaking of video game adaptations; I really loved the new series. They nailed the feel of the game, but also delivered some fantastic storytelling. It even made me want to play the first two Fallouts just to get a little more understanding of the show.

I loved it and you might too https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B0CN4J59BF/ref=butts

@docpop I highly recommend playing the first two Fallouts, they're absolutely genre-defining

Our little bunny has an eye infection so we have to give her eye drops four times a day for the next ten days. Things are about to get real hairy around here.

    @divya indeed, the military was directly involved in a lot of these. (Interestingly the first Rambo is an exception, it’s a weirdly humane and anti-war response to Vietnam. After that one the series, uh, takes a turn.) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military%E2%80%93entertainment_complex

    @vees @divya the “for executives” qualifier is pretty important here! In short: fuck ‘em; in long: if anyone is going to work too much, may as well be the people with make believe jobs who get all the profits.

    I just had the weirdest interaction I think I've ever had on Mastodon.

    If you start an interesting thread, and don't want people to comment on it, perhaps it should have been a blog post with locked comments to begin with?

    foon,
    @foon@mastodon.social avatar

    @andycarolan don’t feel bad. Louie has very particular ideas about how social media should work that are just not compatible with how social media actually works.

    foon,
    @foon@mastodon.social avatar

    @andycarolan yeah, that’s the right move for your own sanity! I have him on a rolling month-long mute, myself.

    foon,
    @foon@mastodon.social avatar

    @andycarolan the difference is that I can see when people respond (not sure if that’s an intended feature or an Ivory quirk), so if an interesting conversation does happen against all odds, I’ll get to see it. Probably not worth it though since they mostly end in tears!

    I heard that the old Bank Of America location at 3250 Mission Street (between 29th and Valencia) might soon become a grocery store. That seems like a great fit for the neighborhood, and a nice alternative to the giant Safeway a block away. It looks like they are already installing some large freezer units this week.

    foon,
    @foon@mastodon.social avatar

    @docpop awesome! That Safeway is the worst in the city, I’d love an alternative.

    Aaaahhh my new tempeh starter is here!!

    foon,
    @foon@mastodon.social avatar

    After 24 hours the fungus is well established and is generating enough heat that I’ve removed the tempeh from the incubator

    foon,
    @foon@mastodon.social avatar

    48 hours in, the fungus has totally taken over the tempeh substrate, forming a very solid slab. This starter is more vigorous than the one I’ve used before—usually it takes 72 hours to get to this point. I’ll still give it a little longer to see if the corners fill in. At this point it’s putting out a pleasant warmth.
