It's called controlling the narrative.

"At a Pierre [ rally] in Corner Brook, NL this evening, where the media was asked to leave following PP's speech preventing us from posing questions to the party leader.
This is highly unusual for an event that the media was invited to cover. I was quite vocal in my opposition to the request. In the end, we had to comply, as it was ‘technically’ a private event and we were there by invitation of the party." - Don Bradshaw NTV News

Premier Ford was angry that "folks" were constantly writing protest messages on the hoarding he'd constructed to hide the destruction of the trees & wildlife at . To solve the issue, he wrapped the entire project in images of... trees & wildlife.
Not surprisingly, neglected to include a single image of the massive luxury spa that he's planting on the waterfront for a century.

A collage of gorgeous blue Ontario lakes and green forests. None of the pictures reflect the destroyed Toronto waterfront however.

Last year I stood outside a Poilievre "Axe The Tax" pep rally in BC and handed out a factsheet I made myself about the BC Carbon Pricing Tax Credit ... eligibility, how much you get, when you get it, no you don't have to apply for it to get it, etc. etc. #bcpoli

People were mostly polite if disbelieving, but clearly unwilling to admit they were standing there holding signs calling for axing the federal carbon tax in a province that doesn't pay the federal carbon tax.

gemelliz,

@AlisonCreekside
Brilliant PR move for the Conservatives to rebrand Harper's "Carbon Pricing" to Trudeau's "Carbon Tax" 😈

It's NOT A TAX - it is a revenue neutral carbon pricing system & nine out of 10 provinces supported carbon pricing in 2016, until incoming Conservative Premiers cancelled their programs & forced their constituents to pay carbon tax.
Now, has convinced Canadians that carbon pricing is a tax and all their money woes will evaporate once he 'axes' it.

"We'll never touch the Greenbelt"

"We'd never privatize health care"

“We will never, ever sell the LCBO” said Premier Ford today.

No one will be surprised when they hear is planning to sell off the $2.5 billion a year liquor & wine business to his donors. 🙄

Reminder: LCBO employees were among the public service workers impacted by Ford's unconstitutional wage Bill 124. Currently profits from LCBO stores help fund public services in .

gemelliz,

Why is destroying every source of revenue and profit in the province of ??

An empty public purse = a government that can 'cry poor' and offer fewer services for your tax dollar. Then corporate interests step in and profit from what should be public services.

Premier Ford & Sylvia Jones repeatedly claim that people in will never need their credit card to access basic health care.
😡 They're lying.
Patients without an OHIP funded family doctor are so desperate for care they're reduced to paying big bucks to access private clinics.
👉 clinic - a nurse practitioner performs a general exam, plus Pap test & charges $110.00
Plus the NurseP charges an additional $110.00 to review the results with you.

gemelliz,

@Jgmeadows Precisely. And like it or not, the fallout from Covid is not over. Not by a long shot. Paediatric needs are up. Seniors as well.
Besides even without the pandemic stressors, the largest population bubble in Canada will need substantial healthcare over the next few decades. Premier Ford sitting on billions while healthcare collapses is obscene.

The Canadian federal election hasn't even been called yet and already an avalanche of daily "polls" show a strong Poilievre win.

Premier Ford just raised your energy bills far more than the carbon tax.

#Ontario families will be paying $600 more annually (with no carbon rebate) to subsidize Enbridge after #DougFord overruled the Ontario Energy Board.
