Fairly momentous day for me today. Feeling pensive and quiet as a result.

Today, I intentionally let my nursing registration lapse. That is, I am now no longer a nurse.

It feels bittersweet. I was ready to let it lapse. I’d had enough. I’ve spent the last 7 years (and 3 years prior gaining my degree in nursing) working as an A&E Nurse (ER nurse to you yanks) and of course the last few years really haven’t been kind. (1/5)

Great. My go to note taking app on iPad (for handwriting) has now added AI for very generic purposes and open ended and vague privacy statements.

What a shit show this is turning into.

Look, I love tech and computer stuff as much as the next person. But does anyone else hate how car interiors are just becoming a wall of screens and touch screen buttons? I can’t even hop on to my favourite game for a quick 5 minutes without first needing updates/patches for drivers, software, launchers and the game itself these days- cars are just going to join this mentality, aren’t they? Not to mention that you won’t actually feel like you’re driving anymore.

Well, I’m finally caught up for the morning. Last night’s stream was a heap of fun as always- turns out, big muscle cars just want you to die. Who knew?

Catching up on my Mastodon feed doesn’t feel anywhere near as exhausting as catching up on any of my other social network feeds did (Twatbook, Twatter etc). It’s great. I can get to the end of my timeline and feel like I’ve actually come out of a meaningful engagement rather than like I’ve ran a marathon through misinformation, vitriol and rage.
