"This legislation is being touted by Republicans—stung by recent electoral defeats by voters who abhor their forced-birth policies—as an example of their compassion toward women and others who become pregnant. What it reveals, however, is not compassion, but coercion, harassment, and ultimately, control."

Against a theocratic government intruding in your lives? Be sure to vote accordingly in November.

"Neoliberal capitalism has thus failed in its own economic terms: It has not delivered growth, let alone shared prosperity. But it has also failed in its promise of putting us on a secure road to democracy and freedom, and it has instead set us on a populist route raising the prospects of a 21st-century fascism."

Aside from Biden's recent actions to do exactly that (which I've seen exactly zero acknowledgement of from anyone claiming it's the one and only basis for withholding their support), how do you set aside the orders of magnitude greater moral imperative presented by the global climate disaster Trump will precipitate if elected?

joeinwynnewood,

Concern troll? Really?

So we should ignore the lessons of history and blindly repeat fostering far greater death and destruction?

That seems a rather poor argument.

PS Why are you pretending Biden has not acted to stop a full scale incursion into Rafa?

The refusal to go with the lesser of two evils inevitably results in tremendous evil being unleashed.

It's quite insane to ignore the lessons of multiple historical experiences that 100% prove this to be true.

The problem is your indiscriminate use of the term genocide.
What's happened in Gaza is horrible, but doesn't begin to compare to the Holodomor, or the Khmer Rouge's killing fields, or the Shoah, and will be even smaller next to the coming horror of climate disasters should America turn the fossil-fuel industry loose to do whatever they want as Trump has promised.

It is beyond irresponsible to ignore the full ramifications of allowing Trump to become president again.

STEVE BANNON TO JAIL 🚨

A federal appeals court on Friday upheld the criminal contempt of Congress conviction of Trump White House senior advisor Steve Bannon.

Bannon was convicted in connection with refusing to testify and provide documents to the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol

Bannon will now have to report to prison for his 4-month sentence!

I'm pretty sure everyone below Congress is working off of vote builder which, so far as I know, is pretty bare bones, demographics + voting history. I believe that DB is supplied by the DNC via state Parties.

It's not cheap to get commercial data sets to marry with the basics.

I know consortiums of outside groups are using Catalist, with some commercial data, in battleground states, but they can't coordinate with candidates.

Bottom line, it costs $ and $ is scarce for most.

@janisf @lolgop

It's an awful lot of effort for the relatively small benefit of reducing annoyance for some segment of (maybe?) voters.

I would hope our voters can put up with the hassle to push forward the possibility of important beneficial policies.

Imagine being able to form or join a union without fear of losing your job?

I'll suffer a bit of hassle now for the real possibility of that future.
