I've been involved in politics in one way or another for a long time. I've never heard anyone ask people who do not have the spare change to make a financial contribution.

Taking care of your and your family's basic needs always comes first. Always.

@lolgop asked for one person. That absolutely should be interpreted as one person who can afford to contribute.

The same goes for "blanket" asks. No one should ever feel bad about not being able to chip in $ or volunteer if you can't.

I'm not quite sure how campaigns would know what everyone's financial status is if people don't tell them (by asking to be removed from their list).

I guess a "financially stability" flag could be added to the voter databases campaigns rely on, but even then, there's not one copy of one database that everyone works off of. There are dozens and dozens of copies across states...

I’ve said this before but apparently it hasn’t sunk in but if you say “Biden has lost my vote”, don’t expect anyone to listen to you or be surprised he’s not out gunning for it. The election is 6 months out. If there’s no way you’re voting for him, nobody fucking cares what you want.

You can enjoy likely a 7-2 or 8-1 conservative SCOTUS that will be grinding down our rights for the next generation or three. Enjoy that.

Generally good piece, though I think the argument for a Rafa invasion is far weaker than Cohen suggests.

I've read that Hamas fighters have already infiltrated back into northern Gaza.

It's wishful thinking (aka fantasy) that Hamas can be eliminated. It's always been a fantasy. The strategic costs of going into Rafa way, way outweigh the possible benefits.

Polls this far out are useful only in clarifying what work needs to be done.

That said, the trend of improving polls both nationally and in the battleground states continues, and positive trends are way better than the alternative.

Yes, this is a very local election with low turnout, but, Ottawa County is apparently, by far, the most Republican county in MI.

The last Democratic presidential nominee to carry the county was George McClellen in 1864.
FDR never carried it in any of his 4 races.
In 1964, Ottawa was one of only three counties in MI to vote for Goldwater over LBJ.

Not a good sign for the GOP.

She was unqualified when she was appointed, is far too inexperienced to handle a case of this import, and certainly not one that also has some measure of complexity.

She's way over her head and on top of that disinclined to harm the guy who gave her such a plumb position, so here we are.

Unqualified and inexperienced doesn't mean stupid. She did get a law degree, clerk and work as a prosecutor.

I think you are correct for the people who are voting in primaries, but that's only a slice of the much larger number of general election voters.

It's really important for us to speed the process of voters finding out what that 20+% of GOP voters have learned. If we do this effectively, Democrats should have a very good night on November 5th.

It is lunacy to make decisions on what and how to report based on what people say is most important when those opinions are themselves based upon entirely false narratives relentlessly pushed by right-wing propaganda outlets.

Then throwing up ridiculous strawmen to justify perpetuating the ignorance and falsehoods compounds the inanity of everything Kahn is saying and the reporting he is defending.
