I have been building browsers for 30 years now. First Opera and now Vivaldi. My estimate is that more than 1 billion have used one of my browsers or both. Have you?

Feel free to share your story!

@jon I’ve used both and chances are I would be using Vivaldi if it weren’t based on chromium.

Soon I'm gonna start on the quest system for my RPG game yay! :blobhappy:

After that it's time to start thinking about the game story and world map and even a name :bloblaugh:

So far I got:

  • Player, stats, equipment, leveling
  • Crouching, vaulting, climbing, assassinations, targetlock, dodging, sprinting
  • Basic melee combat, combo attacks
  • Civilian NPCs, enemy NPCs and bosses NPCs

Next up:

  • Quest system
  • Mounts
  • Ranged combat (bow)
  • Game options, mini map etc etc

htmx is cool and all, but returning HTML directly from a server? idk, sounds a bit experimental.

@mxbck I think that comment summarises very good how many developers see web development these days. All frontend code with backends returning json all the time. Very sad.

@notjustbikes looks like if you want engagement you just have to complain about the lack of engagement.

What do you think is the key best practice for developing with Ruby on Rails?

@pragprog don’t try to outsmart Rails. Rails is already very well designed. If you think you need an extra abstraction you are probably wrong. Follow the Rails way at all times.
