With so many MPs in one party, how do they sit in parliament? The commons isn't big enough for all the MPs to sit anyway, but certainly can't fit 400+ on one side...
@quixoticgeek they sit on the non-speaker end of the opposing benches too. There aren't 650 seats anyway. Even fewer of the Lords would fit in their chamber. It's a nonsense building, needs changes.
@t_aus_m@jon square tubing would scratch bikes easily, so people would soon learn to avoid them. You'd still need to check the sound isn't cut anyway. People ignore noisy thieves if they wear hi vis and gauntlets.
So, I built Siren's documentation portal, and the entire site is built using WordPress and the full-site editor. It's my first complete build using FSE, so I wrote up a reflection on it.
@jon@quixoticgeek does an app really save you a few euro? What price access to your phone, its data, network and battery? Transport tickets really ought to use standard ticket wallet apps. Bet their blasted app is only on Google and Apple app stores, not independent ones, entrenching the tech overlord monopolies further. 😤
@samueljohnson@jon Saturday's electrostar had some intermittent contact problem on the speakers. At least once it went "this is the service to London (crackles, long long pause) Sorted!" Which was nice.
@jon CdG is still pretty much Paris. I wonder why the northeastern border corridor has so little service. Another obvious looking route is via Luxembourg but argh #crossborderail
If we want people to refill reusable bottles, it needs to be easier than buying a bottle of drink. That means a) not needing a bloody app to find where you can get water 2) water taps/fountains in the well walked passages of the station so you can fill as you go past and don't have to detour. iii) not have to ask someone to fill your bottle for you.
@KFvMalssen@jon sadly my #cycling insurance requires me to lock to a fixed object, so I often park at one end of a space, to reach a fence with my lock
@fkamiah17 remind Sunak and friends that that "foreign" court (the #echr ) was created by the 1949 Treaty of London! UK withdrawal would be a disgrace, making our government a laughing stock, joining the 1970 Greek dictatorship.
2nd day at #ConnectingEuropeDays talking “urban nodes” (aka cities) and their connections to the EU Trans European Networks. It’s a jargon soup at the start.
@pettter@jon anyone who thinks there aren't complaints about buses isn't monitoring social media. People don't complain to bus operating companies or authorities any more because nothing changes.
