Also, Texas moves to limit renewable energy and ramp up carbon output, because the whole state is now going to be rolling coal; Florida's state book ban released (spoiler: it's not actually pr0n); and Republican Texas legislators are moving to require public schools to install "bleeding stations" and train children down to third grade in trauma care.

the outdoor air was better than indoor air so it activated the air-exchange for five minutes before closing it again :D

@KindlyWizard Some of us have been screaming about this for decades, I have to note.

That said, this was always going to get worse through roughly now, even if everyone had reacted then. A lot less worse, but worse.

We've already won this once, at a time we critically needed to win it. I don't mean the 40s; I mean the 90s and 2000s. That's why they abandoned democracy when they regrouped for another go.

And we can win this again, if we fight.

Twitter somehow gets worse week by week--right now it is an unusable swamp of right wing conspiracy theory, wave after wave of racism (there is currently an "invasion" underway at the southern border that must be stopped by lethal force) crypto bros, and bots selling high-follower accounts. Amazing really.

@GWillow As long as they leave Twitter, I honestly don’t care too much. I also frankly kind of prefer breaking up the mass.

My issue with Bluesky is that most of their public hand-wringing has been about how to make sure nazis and fascists can be on the service and I 1000% do not trust Jack not to turn Bluesky into the same hellpit as Twitter. But that’s in the future.

For now, the important thing is killing off Twitter.

I remember in the 00’s people used to say ‘breeder’ as a slur for straight people. It didn’t really catch on and it’s kind of gross.

but no joke they leaned into it and now there are tons of white supremacists and tech elites saying that people should be breeding, and they’re bringing back tradwife stuff. I think we actually called it in 2003.
