Very soon in Flipboard I will be able to follow @Gargron who is on Mastodon and @mosseri who is on Threads and @dansup who is on PixelFed. And I will be able to see, like and reply to any of their posts. And they will be able to see my replies and follow me from whatever app they're using. And anyone else who is following one of the three of us will be able to see our activity from whatever app they're using in the Fediverse. This is how things should be.

@markhughes @mike @mosseri @dansup @Gargron if an administrator blocks the instance, why is it good for them to be taking content editorial decisions for you? If they block it you won’t be able to unblock. You have to leave your instance.

If the admin does not block, the power rests in you.

What you are advocating for is removing user choice and forcing all people on a server cut ties they may not want to cut.

@Xenon @GonzoVeritas this was me. I could understand the financial reason for effectively closing the API. But the disdain for their user base that Huffman and his team showed in the AMA and the handling of the protests made me realize I don’t want to be in a place I’m not wanted.

New feature in Mastodon nightly builds, soon to be released: ability to hide people in lists from your timeline.

Finally! I make heavy use of lists on my social media, to be able to filter different subsets of accounts and get them out of my home feed.

For example, I like having a “News” list with news anchors but I hate my Home timeline being filled with news. Same with Immigration or politics accounts.

@Nougat It doesn’t prevent them now, as they can just easily crawl all of your posts on here because you are posting on a public instance. Defederating from them does nothing to make your public content private.

I have a fun idea to commission some of the artists who did Apollo icons to create some really cool final Apollo wallpapers to remember the app by. Is this something you'd pay a few bucks for, where the proceeds would go toward Apollo's refund fees?

Should we be cross-posting to equivalent communities between instances?

Title. I'm wondering what's everyone's take on this. On the one hand it'd mean seeing multiples of one post if you're subscribed to equivalent communities between communities. On the other hand, right now I think a big worry is this momentum we have dying out due to lack of content....

so I’ve been thinking about this for a long time

at some point yr humble fediverse servant is going to get called into a meeting to justify how I am spending my time over here

& I suspect saying “listen this is the most fun I’ve had on social media since early Tumblr” is not the move
