Whenever I'm stressed out and need to chill I watch this guy on YouTube review linux based retro gaming handhelds. He'll softly talk about the clickiness of the buttons and how accurate the color profiles are on the screen for like a half hour. The only downside to this is I now own like 7 different retro gaming handhelds for no real reason

Staying in an AirBnB that’s been haphazardly set up as a Google smart home, and it’s like being haunted by the stupidest ghosts imaginable. Flickering lights, voices emanating from empty rooms at all hours, complaining of lost network connections and offering to tell me the weather.

I would literally buy a plane ticket for any employee working on the app Plex if they agree to try downloading a movie off a server and successfully playing it back on a plane with no internet connection.

Plex is great at so many things it’s shocking how bad the offline experience can be (and has been for years).

Feminist Frequency, especially their video series Tropes vs. Women in Video Games, was very influential to me and really changed some of the ways I view and think of media. The framing of “be critical of the media you love” is something lost by much of overbearing scolds on twitter and I’m glad FemFreq drove that into me so well. It’s ok to love something AND for it to have problems! You can enjoy something AND be put off by it.
