It's been a week, and not a single honk.

"a me piacciono i libri" e poi "chissà cosa c'è li dentro" riferendosi al codice.

At a certain point, design work is just staring at a split complementary and making up stories in your head that justify the colors. You slide Lightness and Saturation up and down while going "yes, and there's the blood, earth, sea and sky, these are the colors of The People".

I think it's where designers get the spiel they eventually sell clients with: deciding on colors, is in part, when you feel your story about them is good enough.

@dotstdy @oblomov It’s easy to argue with it! But yes this makes it clear that that’s what they meant. I maintain that this is an unnecessary overloading of meaning of work group in the spec.

It’s not surprising at this point but it certainly isn’t reassuring either that this virus just keeps spreading farther and wider…

Visited the National Museum of Computing today. I've been to plenty of computer museums – but this one is special: Almost everything works!

You can type on an Enigma, and then see how a bombe helped decipher it. It's loud!!

They also have a computer from 1951, the "Witch", which still works! It had 340 bytes of RAM, could calculate five values per second, and punch them out on paper tape!

A man stands in front of a big device with many rotating wheels.
A computer as big as three big wardrobes, with many vacuum tubes.
Paper tape with punched-out holes on wheels.
