@neurothing suggested album openers as theme for today's #ThursdayFiveList #TheOpener.
These are my five to jive with, I like them all and they lead into some of my favorite albums.
It is time for #musicwomenwednesday. My pick today is :
Carson Amanda "Carsie" Blanton (born July 22, 1985) is an American singer-songwriter based in New Jersey, who performs on guitar. Blanton has released eight studio albums and three EPs, all with a "pay what you please" pricing strategy. Blanton wrote "My true calling as an artist is to share…What I actually want to do is make beautiful music and then give it to everyone, regardless of what they give me back."

Sometimes it's worth going through your outtakes to see if you have anything interesting. I initially thought the stray headlights had ruined this image - but actually I like the combination of the Joshua Tree, Cap Rock, wispy clouds and Ursa Major (aka Big Dipper).
“Dude” is both approbative and gently mocking; a word used among friends. If somebody fucks up in a comical fashion, they are totally “dude.” One is unlikely to call a serious enemy “dude.”
There is an element of lightness and unseriousness associated with “dude,” which is to its credit. See also “dude ranch,” or Chester A. Arthur, the “Dude President.”
@pinskal And "dude" been in the English language for centuries! It's also a word of praise for something mildly daring or achieving the unexpectedly courageous. In all these senses, consider a woman being called "dude" for acheiving what the men around her wouldn't expect from her gender. (The woman in question definitely considers it praise, but she is also a leader.)
My artist this week is Marika Louise Hackman (born 17 February 1992) is an English vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter.
Hackman has released a mini-album, That Iron Taste (2013), and four full-length albums: We Slept at Last (2015); I'm Not Your Man (2017); Any Human Friend (2019) and Covers (2020). She has also released four EPs: Free Covers (2012), Sugar Blind (2013), Deaf Heat (2014), and Wonderland (2016).
In 2023, Marika Hackman released a new song called "No Caffeine".[1] The track is taken from the album Big Sigh, released on 12 January 2024, which was her first studio album in five years.
I just made a mistake and hit the wrong remove button for followers that are inactive, instead of hitting just selected followers I hit remove all followers from the following domains. I apologize for this mistake and have no idea how to get back the followers I cut out incorrectly. I hope some will come back to follow me again..
