@josh I don't want to be that guy, but TLD is the top level, so .social is a TLD and .com, .net etc. are. mastodon.social is a doman name. something.mastodon.social is a subdomain.

TLD are very expensive, so when I saw "free TLD" I jumped over there! 😀 Great article, though.

https://fediverse.fans is an attempt to offer lists of accounts by their declared interests. You can add yourself, modify or delete anytime. The FediRoster software is by @julian who also got it started.

Take a look, do a search for "linux" or "music" or whatever floats your boat. Check the accounts of interest and download the file. Go to preferences/import-export and import those accounts.
Or - if you're very new, download thre whole list & remove those that aren't interesting to you.

I have a huge argument (non-violent) with a friend about how he'll spend weeks perfecting his music and then never put it out whereas I spend one day and it's "on all platforms".
That is what I do, I put out music that could be better for a million reasons, but I release it to the wold as-is. Sue me!🤑

I'm going to follow that hashtag and boost everything I see there. Of course it has to be original or a cover by you, not Grateful Dead oldies.

I think this move also signals Spotify's financial woes, regardless of listener numbers.
They're scrambling to get more profit and I won't help them for that, which is why I remove over 100 tracks before the end of 2023.
