While government sources very rarely talk about Long Covid, Men's Health is warning about the dangers of repeated Covid infections.

Of course US intelligence agencies know Isreal is lying. That won't stop the US from continuing to support genocide and block humanitarian aide.

Study in Michigan showed Long COVID prevalence was 40-60% lower among adults vaccinated (vs. unvaccinated) prior to their COVID-19 onset. In general studies have shown partial, but not complete, protection against Long Covid from vaccines.

Some Democrats are arguing to support Biden because he says he is working to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza. When you are the one supplying the arms, you don't work towards a ceasefire--you stop immediately. It is like an active shooter claiming they are working towards stopping.

David Axelrod, Nate Silver, Ezra Klein, Jon Stewart among those questioning whether Biden is fit to run for a second term. Will Democrats act or stick with Biden and make it far easier than it should be for Trump to win in November?

Biden has supported continuation and expansion of mass surveillance used after 9/11. Mass surveillance has been greatly abused, targeting Muslims, immigrants, and protesters for racial, environmental, and labor justice.

Examples of Minimization often seen from Democrats defending Biden's policies:

  1. Comparing Covid to a cold or saying the pandemic is over
  2. Ignoring Biden's difficulties processing information & describing it as occasionally forgetting names
    3.Denying the power of the presidency denying Biden is responsible for current government policies.

Biden ran on a Covid plan which included paid time off work to allow those infected to remain at home. This promise was never kept and instead government policy has increasingly been to send people back to work when still infectious, allowing Covid to spread out of control.

@AskPippa Trump said worse things but they weren't official policy. In terms of policy, Biden has done more harm. Besides, Biden is president now.

@AskPippa He most likely will come back considering how terribly BIden has done. For the moment though the problem is Biden.

In 2001 Biden reduced the period of isolation after Covid to only 5 days, despite most still being infectious, at the request of the CEO of Delta Airlines. Now they plan to eliminate even the 5 days of isolation despite current high levels of Covid.

If you look at what they say, Donald Trump is far worse than Joe Biden. If you look at what they actually have done, both are terrible, but Biden has done worse, from his mishandling of Covid to genocide in Gaza (two different issues which resulted in his Genocide Joe nickname).

@wjmaggos @brendo
That comes down to the rhetorical versus policy differences.

Trump would have done much the same re Covid but people ignored Trump and wore masks. Many stopped because of misinformation from Biden.

I don't know how much it would have helped, but at least Trump would have spoken with Putin re Ukraine while Biden has torpedoed any attempts at negotiations. They might have come to an agreement to prevent or end the war based on Ukraine staying out of NATO.

rchusid,
@rchusid@med-mastodon.com avatar

@wjmaggos @brendo As for the freedom factor, see my responses above. Overall Biden's actual record re democracy and civil liberties has been even worse than Trump's.

rchusid,
@rchusid@med-mastodon.com avatar

@TruthSandwich @wjmaggos @brendo We oppose fascism by opposing both Trump and Biden. Democrats get really upset when Biden's record is discussed and it turns out to be so similar to Trump's record.

rchusid,
@rchusid@med-mastodon.com avatar

@TruthSandwich @wjmaggos @brendo I haven't equated true liberalism with fascism. I've equated the false liberalism practiced by right wing Democrats with fascism.

I oppose fascism. You are a fascist. Get the difference?

Below Detroit's streets is a network of tunnel systems almost as elaborate as the bustling metropolis that sits above it.

Democrats have not learned. In 2016 Democrats denied the evidence against Clinton & throughout the election faced a series of new lies from Clinton where were exposed by mainstream media fact checkers. In 2024 Democrats will go through the election denying Biden has dementia while every slip becomes major news.
