My wife @mustikkasoppa has a birthday today. We are having a day trip and eating in a busy vietnamese restaurant. I'm near panicking because of the noise and the crowd but I'm doing this for her. It's her day and this is my sole focus today.

I'm often jealous of her deafblindness. She has the ability to turn off her hearing whenever she wishes so. She has an equalizer in her brain, her cochlear implant has a remote control so she can fine tune what she wants to hear. Whenever she wants an absolute silence and peace, she just takes the device off.

She also has about 10% of her vision left so she can't see too much. She often wishes to see more, but 90% of the time she doesn't need hearing anything. I on the other hand would sometimes prefer to hear and even see less as I'm too sensitive to react to my surroundings. Noise canceling headphones don't help enough.

She is the super woman in my life and I love her so much. Happy birthday @mustikkasoppa :blobheartcat:

@stuart Haha @mustikkasoppa does that sometimes if she gets annoyed. We have tactile sign language though, but if she decides no touching I'm out of luck.

It also helps to have your own server. It brings the extra safe feeling. Everything is under control and nobody can say what should I post, how should I behave etc. It's my server.

With combined relief and light sadness I have informed our staff today that I will not be attending WordCamp Europe 2023. I've been feeling fatigue for while now and will take some distance from the WordPress events and travelling in general (for the record, I hate all kinds of travelling and social gatherings, as much as I try to enjoy it, it's really causing my anxiety spike).

I've always considered more about our team rather than myself. This year I'll think about my own well being. I will take that week to be with my family. The war doesn't need one man. I'm sure my team will enjoy the trip despite this. See you perhaps at 2024. Have fun in Athens this summer everyone!

@WTL Yeah. I really don't like travelling in any way, even the train is like a torture for me. I don't like to see new places, on the contrary it's really stressful to be away from home. I have a form of agoraphobia and I'm sure it's related to the anxiety of not being in control and the feeling that it takes time or is rather cumbersome to get back. I just like the safe and familiar environment better.

I’m putting all my post efforts into , as that social media platform has more potential, to me. Cross posting on three platforms is a bit too much.

So is bluesky part of the fediverse or will this be a separate entity?
