Mastodon Bird UI v1.4.9 released! :neon_skull:

Changelog:

  • Fix content warning alignment, should be baseline instead of top
  • Add gap between the cw title and show-button
  • Increase contrast of show button
  • Fix cw button color in notifications
  • Fix hover size of the bookmark icon when in detailed status
  • Fix detailed status bar bookmark icon color on hover
  • Add account header handle to color light purple scope
  • Fix follow button color being different than the rest

@davidbisset Looks nice. I'm still not sure what to think about block themes in general, all styles being inline etc., Also from a regular user point of view it's too easy to break the layout on admin side and quite difficult to build new layouts with too many options in your hands.

  • Newly-redesigned with header images, the person's public bio, their avatar, 1-click following, and more!
  • More categories and more profiles
  • Dynamic recommendations: the profiles change every 6-12 hours based on who is posting, so you're always getting recommendations for the most active accounts

    @jay Twitter is different as it's designed to amplify toxicity. You confuse two different things here, being toxic and talking about negative things. "Don't bring it to attention" in this context is almost gaslighting as nobody is being toxic here.

    In a general sense openness and talking about difficult subjects is the only way to live life. We should not tell people to be silent. Especially not on the Fediverse, which is a safe place.

    If you don't like talking about Bluesky or Twitter, use the filtering options. In my opinion it's important to talk about the flaws of them to not to encourage early adopters to take the wrong impression about them and boost that.

    I like Twitter and Bluesky meta discussion and will follow those conversations with a keen eye. There is no reason to tell people to stop posting about it. Just mute, block, unfollow and carry on.

    i can’t put my finger on what, but the vibes are good. same as i can’t put my finger on why the vibes are off on mastodon.

    In the beginning of 2010 I was registered to over 150 social media sites. The rise of the social media were exciting times. There were rarely any algorithms, no TikTok, no Instagram for Android, no ads on Twitter.

    However, over the years everything went to shit. The social media sites died one by one and couple of the dominating players slowly shifted to platforms where your data was no longer yours, where you were the money machine. The sad thing is, most of the people didn't even notice this change.

    I'm really hopeful about the rise of the open Internet, , etc. We need this.

    Hei suomalaiset Mastodon-käyttäjät! Rakensin julkisen käyttäjälistan, joka perustuu käyttäjien itsensä suostumukseen. Eli listalla on ainoastaan käyttäjiä, jotka haluavat olla listalla.

    Seuraan itse tällä hetkellä 1000+ aktiivista suomalaista, mutta meitä on täällä paljon enemmän. Uuden seurattavan löytäminen on välillä hankalaa hajautuksen takia, joten itseäni, vanhoja ja uusia Mastodon-käyttäjiä auttaakseni kasaan listaa nyt yhteen paikkaan.
