Jack Dorsey referred to Twitter, the privately owned company that blocked links to competing social media platforms like Mastodon, as "freedom technology". What a clown.
He also deleted his account on Bluesky announced he's no longer on Bluesky's board of directors. Jack's involvement was one of the reasons I was never excited about #Bluesky, TBH.
@realTuckFrumper Zora Neale Hurston's famous quote, “All skinfolk ain't kinfolk,” suggests that some people of color may be agents of white supremacy and may actively discriminate against people of their same racial group.
Rep. Ruben Gallego has rejected an offer from Kari Lake to debate on abortion. A Gallego campaign spokesperson:
"There's nothing to debate. Kari Lake's record is clear: she supports the 1864 ban with no exceptions for rape or incest and called on sheriffs to enforce it."
Kristi Noem’s fundamental miscalculation was that if Trump thought it was a good idea to take something out back and shoot them simply because he was extremely disappointed in them, he wouldn’t have any adult sons.
@realTuckFrumper any christian or catholic who thinks they can be allies with the christofacists better wake up
when the christofacists take over they will be forced to abandon their religion and adopt a very strict 'national religion' with very strict rules and with no exceptions or be completely destroyed
@realTuckFrumper i had 0 kids and this is a prime example of why i made the best decision by having 0 kids
but, in their position, i would rent them each a studio apartment because there is no way i would want them moving in with me as adults, you know, for my own sanity
Big Journalism's timidity is never more obvious than when, confronted with a blatant lie from a (usually Republican) politician, the news org then frames the lie as a mere mistake.
Example today from ABC News -- headline:
"South Dakota Gov. Noem admits error of describing meeting Kim Jong Un in new book"
Come on, journalists, this just makes you look ridiculous.
Regarding the whole bear meme that's going around the internet, I'll say this much: I've been backpacking all around the world solo, and have gone on extensive trips in the wilderness where bears exist, including the entire Appalachain Trail and Olympic National Park amd Olympic National Forest. I've encountered plenty of bears and plenty of men while alone at night, and the bears were always, always less threatening to me. Not because men are powerful or anything like that, of course, but because of their behaviour and potential motives.
The men who are protesting need to learn to shut up and listen.
