#NZTwits of Wellington, please support Zephyr Cafe, who closed in solidarity with the trans community on Saturday during the TERF conference, who are now getting abused on X and review-bombed by said TERFs.
Slightly mortifying question: how skillful a cyclist do you have to be to tow a kids trailer on your bike?
Someone has offered to lend us a trailer, and I am still at the absolute beginner stage of learning, but anything that helps us travel with our kid, who is still boycotting travel by car or bus, would be nice.
@seawall I would do plenty of test rides in a safe area, both loaded and not, to get used to the weight and especially handling. How to turn, turning radius, how quickly you can get off pedaling at a light. Depends on the trailer too, but plenty of people do it!
Have I mentioned lately that we all deserve better?
We're living through an ongoing pandemic, with a panzootic threatening to spill over, fascism on the rise everywhere, well-documented genocides, and everything generally being shittier AND more expensive.
A brief run-down of my standard practice for #COVIDcautious hairdresser housecalls etc.
The client and I both take RATs the morning of the appointment. I wear a mask, I recommend the client does too (although can be tricky with sideshaves et al), and ideally we work in a room where there's windows that open for ventilation.
On nice days I've cut hair on people's decks, wind permitting. 😂
I also have my CO2 monitor, and I am considering saving up for another #HEPA filter that I can bring +
Friends, help. Since the start of the panny d, my movie viewing has declined sharply (and will stay that way until IAQ is addressed, long story short).
The few I've seen and enjoyed: EEAAO, SMILE, THE MEG 2, BARBIE, and STRANGE WAY OF LIFE.
I know things are bleak, but a friend of mine just updated her IG with a picture of her newly received moko kauae, and she looks so proud and happy. Knowing what she's been through, I'm tearing up with joy for her.
There is hope, friends. The haters and the wreckers are loud, but they are scared, and we've only just begun to fight.
It's been disappointing to see so many creatives I admire be absolute moral cowards and genocide apologists about the assault on #Palestine, but gratifying to see the creator of the delightful puzzle video game #BabaIsYou taking a stand.
Same goes for the creator of the BBC cartoon #SarahAndDuck. My son and I are both big fans, and I'm glad I don't have to boycott either of them.
