As someone who fully divested from twitter despite being reliant on it early in 2023 I'm here to tell you that you can, in fact, just not use twitter. You can go all in on mastodon. In fact, it'll probably make mastodon work better for you if you do

I haven't ever tried to look through a mastodon database dump before, how easy is it to work with? lets say I was an FBI agent looking at the dump, what sort of things could I do that I couldn't do by just signing up for an account? Looking at any DMs is an obvious one but what are some less obvious things?

    @robertdalton @hen @thenewoil sad that is how lots of people have to go to keep afloat with the income streams... then again shadow don't have enough money to keep donating to all the places they would want to currently and has to priorities their own well being with the money they have

    It would be cool if took the opposite approach to Google Play App Signing, by using their build system to create a code transparency key that developers could then bundle with their app, and then developers could in turn sign that bundle with their own signing key.

    That way F-Droid could distribute apps that they’ve verified reproducible builds for (and check the CT signature in the F-Droid app), without having to sign the app with their own key—a common complaint about the default F-Droid repo.
