Fantastic 2D fighting game from the makers of Melty Blood.
So when I started noticing that it was going out of stock at a bunch of shops and saw it on sale for €37 on PS5, I had to double dip, despite not being able to play this version until the end of the year.

I just don't want to risk it.

I wish there was something like a dating app, except for everything besides romantic stuff. For example finding people for hobbies, or just to see a movie together.

Maybe I'll try creating another, less weird profile, or try other locations to get to the bottom of it.

Bumble as a dating app apparently isn't very popular where I live anyway, and I imagine its platonic sibling even less so.

For online I'm happy with Mastodon.

Recently dug out my Instagram account that had ~60 people I know/knew irl, but it seems most have gone quiet (or now use other accounts).

I tried making a new Insta account, but it's like... you can't even find anything but "popular" pretty people dancing and things like that. 😩
It seems either you start adding irl people (meaning you'll have to be more careful about what you post) or it's almost impossible to connect...

Oof, Blood Fresh Supply is soo difficult, I can't get past the 2nd stage!

Cultists may take out ~50% of my HP the second they come into view. 😱
No ammo + hordes of axe-zombies means I get impatient and get hurt when I have to take them out with the pitchfork.

Level 1 has 11 secrets, but I've found only 5 so far.
1-2 seconds within the FOV of a cultist or two can totally end an attempt. ( ˙-˙ )

in my search for the perfect food from the perspective of "eating is a waste of my time"; i have determined the criteria:

very little preparation, tastes bland to good, don't have to sit to eat it, doesn't leave you feeling empty, provides the basic nutrients for survival, won't give you cancer later in life.

i have not found this.

    @jake4480 I'd so love to know what russian people, or rather russian gamers think about this.
    It seems the government is afraid of foreign "propaganda" or ideologies seeping in through the media.
    But it means apparently a market exists, and I would hope that russian gamers are open minded people, interested in the culture and ideas of the countries these games come from.
    Let's hope they want more than kremlin propaganda from their games...

    We should have corporation jail. A corporation/business breaks a law, it cannot perform business for some kind of jail term length. That would be more painful than any fine.

    (Yes, I know there's holes in this, but I think if corporations wanna be people, they should get treated like people)

    @buru5 This is what I like about the character limit here on Mastodon. Sometimes I want to write more, but I'm out of characters. So I have to go back and look for ways to abbreviate, and then I notice too many "just" or "really" or similar words that don't add any meaning.

    So, the Mario movie had a simple story, but nice visuals and fun setpieces.

    Detective Pikachu had solid characters and story, probably because it wasn't too stringent with the pokemon formula.

    But Sonic?
    Script full of clichees, but also visually not interesting / fun, no internal logic etc.
    As if the inital "ugly sonic" design already betrayed the bad taste of the movie's producers.

    Is "Sonic is fast" all there is to it? At least Jim Carrey's Eggman performance was fun.

    @jake4480 Pretty much the same for me 😆

    Even as someone not too invested in Mario or Pokemon, I thought both movies were great, so imo they're more than fan service, they can stand on their own.

    (Although I keep wondering what the Mario movie would be like to watch for someone who had 0 prior knowledge of the games. Probably very trippy.)

    @jake4480 Yes I suck at Mario, too. Still routinely die at the first enemy because when I try to jump on its head I hit at a weird angle. Can't get used to the acceleration and deceleration of the character 😅

    That's hard to swallow.

    She suggested an Animal Crossing clone (2 star rating on app store).
    We could water each other's plants (and maybe watch commercials together?)

    I'm sure, whatever appeal there is to Animal Crossing—it's not in "that" game.

    But I'm still shocked by the statement. I know, playing games is wasting time (or is it?), but ... but but but...

    One of my favorite things in is if you pay attention everyone fucking hates Gordon (except Barney seemingly) and it's strongly implied he's the one in the anti mass spectrometer with the sample because they don't like him.

    Which is the only reason he survives (due to the HEV suit)

    @buru5 @rootcompute @jake4480 very true. While the right wing blames "the immigrants" or something, left wing likes to blame "the rich".
    Both are useless blanket statements, but since rich people aren't a marginalized group or oppressed minority, etc. making them the scapegoat isn't as malicious haha.

    But in both cases I think the "us vs. them" mentality is most of the reason why people are drawn to it, except with different flavors.

    @jake4480 @rootcompute @buru5 I don't think it's so simple, since there are tax havens etc.
    I agree, rich people in general are in a better spot to make a change than most. But to go in-depth on the topic would require a lot of time / space.

    My issue is more with phrases like "eat the rich", which I see a lot on Mastodon. That's just hate speech. Accepting hate speech when it aligns with one's own views is imo a double standard.

    Ok. With Korra in Fortnite, and re-opening wounds from the first time I tried to watch that show (how dramatic!), I think I'm gonna try and rewatch that show again... try to enjoy it.... (and probably fail)... and torture you all with my thoughts on a decade old show.

    @Gwendolyn I tried watching that show a while ago and if anything stood out to me, it was how Korra constantly seemed too good and talented at anything she did. Which is funny because it’s the opposite of your take?

    But I’d prefer a character who needs to grow and improve, so by episode 4 (out of several seasons) isn’t it more interesting if she’s still incompetent?

    Idk it’s been a while since I’ve watched maybe 5 episodes of that show

    @Gwendolyn I wish I could remember more details about the episodes, but it’s been a while. Iirc it was something like, normally people can only control one element but she could control all four or something? Like immediate “chosen one”
