My DnD char (a bard) casting the spell psychic lance, or how I imagine it would look like.

Animation testing / practice. Quite rough and unfinished, but it's too tedious to really draw out and color all 27 frames, plus I feel like the charge-up and blast could have had some better impact.

Some of the open world features that are new in #diablo4 remind me a lot of Ragnarok Online, an MMO that predated WoW and, when it came out, felt like Diablo 2 in a shared, open world.

RO had no real quests, pure grind, but players created their own events or just fooled around more. No general world chat meant that players / guilds hung out in certain spots, etc.
Perhaps due to limitations like these, it felt more like an "online society" than any later game I know.

@britt is there a way to see what instances our instance blocks? Also if we block an instance and there’s a user on that instance that we want to follow still is that possible or is it a no go because their instance is blocked? Hasn’t happened yet but curious how it works!

I'm kinda obsessed with Rogue and roguelike games in general (and weird monsters). I was reading this great article from 2016 about their history that I boosted yesterday (thanks to @WoodooProd for alerting me to it).

As I read and poked around the web to check out these early roguelikes, I loved these two screens from a SUPER early roguelike (Pedit5, from 1975).
