I forgot my iShuffle (my music player of choice). Anybody want to share one or more songs to contribute to my playlist for the night? The kind of music I like is good music. (Use your best judgment based on your deep understanding of me and my musical tastes. 😁)
It will take a while for you (Eddie Spot) to see the preview since Stux did upgrades (MSTDN) and the sidekiq jobs are clearing up and probably way behind, but rest assured, we see them, Eddie, because our sidekiq jobs aren't behind.🤓
Pop Culture Detective (who does amazing video commentaries) is moving to the Seattle area and looking for a place. Anybody know of:
“. . . an apartment or small house in the Greenlake or surrounding area, either short term for the summer or more permanently if the place is a good fit. . . . I have a few cat friends who sometimes ‘help’ with our videos, so I'll need a place that accepts kitties.”
As I believe I have had a mountain-lion visitation for a couple of nights, after consultation with advisors, I added extra security measures, including this scarecat.
“I and the others moved seeking to connect our fragmented pieces, our hands outstretched, begging to be nourished with who we are. Instead, the ancestral homeland shakes us, deconstructs us, and cracks us open, ushering in new resilience and perspective.”
@superball@mycrowgirl not to butt in… these are also questions and impulses I’ve been wrestling with. Nonhuman community/ancestors and a relationship to the land are where I’ve ended up, well not ended up but more like how I’m trying to locate myself. My feelings of being unmoored are strange because me and my family have been in this area for generations, yet I still have that feeling somehow, of being dis/misplaced
I just saw the movie Cinema Sabaya as part of a film festival. It is SO GOOD.
“A young filmmaker teaching a workshop in a community center puts cameras into the hands of eight women, Arab and Jewish, and asks them to film their lives. As they share their footage, barriers are broken down, beliefs are challenged, and the women learn more about each other . . . and themselves.”
One nice thing about living basically outdoors is that when I have a cold, I can blow the snot on the ground one nostril at a time, no need for tissues. I imagine the slugs or somesuch appreciate the treat. ✨
