The "Three Body Problem" on Netflix on it's own is bad, but once you compare it to the book, it's much much worse.

The ONLY really good book to movie adaptation I have ever seen was "Silence of the lambs". It more or less just turned the book into a script. The most accurate adaptation I've seen to this day.

@Mrfunkedude Don’t know if it’s my favorite, but the best adaptation I’ve seen is definitely “Slow Horses” on Netflix.

Stronger than the source material, and nearly every choice they make that diverges from the text makes for a better story.

Seeing the torrent of posts here about the earthquake that just happened in New Jersey is giving me strong flashbacks to how the birdsite was at one point a good source for breaking news.

Nottingham Forest have been found guilty of a £34.5m PSR breach and docked four points.

Everton’s breach of £19m largely related to whether or not interest payments from the new stadium could be counted as stadium expenses.

Nottingham Forest’s breach involved retaining a player beyond the deadline so they could sell him for more money, and in fact they played him for the first few games this season.

Forest sold Brennan Johnson after the accounting deadline, and played him in the first games of the season.

Everton’s breach involved miscategorizing interest payments.

If the latter is deemed an unfair sporting benefit, it’s very hard to see how Forest should not be penalized more here (even setting aside the second penalty Everton is likely to be assessed for the same violation).

Everton have been deducted two more points, meaning we have now been penalized twice as much as Nottingham Forest, for a breach relating to a lack of clarity about whether interest payments on a new stadium would be exempt from PSR in the same way that expenditures on a new stadium otherwise would be.

This £19m breach by Everton is also a lesser amount than the £34.5m one by Forest, who gained a clear sporting benefit by their intentional breach.

    Anyone who follows this account for any length of time are aware of our current dog, Bubbles.

    Folks who didn't follow me on the bird site might not have known about our previous pair of dogs, Basin and Yuki.

    Sadly, we lost them in the run-up to the pandemic, but I'd commissioned these portraits to remember them by.

    Okay, picking up from my video game post yesterday, I'm curious:

    When you play video games, rpgs, ect, where you get to choose your character, do you tend to choose a character of the same sex, the opposite sex, non-binary, anthropomorphic, or a mysterious 4th option?

    If you want to share screenshots of character builds I would enjoy that!

    @RickiTarr I tend to vary my choices, based on what I think would be an interesting character.

    Because I was playing Diablo IV when I saw your post, here are the characters I’ve played in the first three seasons of that game.
