So, Internet, I'll ask you. A common question when I was on Reddit discussing soccer matches. What are you drinking while you watch? I've got a nice Ginger Beer.

I remain saddened by the state of Android Mastodon apps compared to the offerings on Apple.

Feels like there is a need for an library for code which facilitates message posting to Twitter, Mastodon, Bluesky, and Threads (once an API is released.)

And if someone could write it in PHP, that would be great.

So far in the kitchen:

  1. Biscuits and gravy for breakfast
  2. Just finished mint chocolate chip ice cream featuring chopped up andes mints.

Coming up:

  • Two ham, broccoli and mushroom quiches for house breakfast for the next week or so (we freeze one)

I am only more convinced that Waibel will not make a notable signing for the club and we'll flounder through the end of the season. And we'll enter a painful rebuilding period.

So a coding thing I was wrestling with last night. Is it not possible to use a <pre> tag or a <code> tag to wrap an iframe? I kept having the iframe evaluated even when wrapped in these tags. Not sure if it was a thing with Firefox, or with it being implemented via javascript. #html #coding

This morning I have discovered streamlink, a CLI app for launching streams in VLC player (among others.) This will greatly assist in watching streams on my TV without having to remote desktop into the Raspberry Pi.

I realized this week a somewhat major rewrite I need to make in this first book. Gearing myself up to go back and make rewrites, finish editing, and then push seriously to see about publishing it.

One of the features I enjoy in my blog's backend is small but brings me joy. I can go through and merge tags in the admin panel as you'd expect. This is used for correcting typos (for example, I just merged 'astonomy' with 'astronomy') or just choosing between synonyms (ex: 'coding' v. 'programming'.)

The feature is that the system saves the merged tag as synonyms and if I ever use one again, it is automatically changed to the new one. So 'astonomy' automatically becomes 'astronomy.'

Society needs to ease up on the hero worship. From Swifty, to Tr*mp, to countless other celebrities - it is fucking weird to see how insane some people get about the big personalities in the world.

I just finished the redstone for a button-press enchantment delivery system. I choose the item I'm enchanting, and the desired books are delivered to the book shelf.

I am sure there are better ways to do it but I am extremely pleased to have finally figured this system out, largely entirely on my own and no tutorials. I've had this idea for a few years, and the arrival of the chiseled bookshelf brought it back to the forefront.

I'm daydreaming of a cheap gadget with an e-ink display which has a passive NFC sensor, and when activated it updates the display of the e-ink screen. Basically current tech for digital store price labels, but dirt cheap.

I want it for easily updating the labels on the drawers for my sorted Magic cards. Right now I use dry erase labels, which work fine. But it would be nicer looking for them to be e-ink displays.
