Another wearable test video for the newly named "Digibot" this is my 1st wearable with no straps or harness holding it onto me. I'm excited to share the details later in a video on how I tackled the problems of my previous wearable robots with this one.

So apparently every state in the US has a system where if a check doesn't get delivered or whatever, instead the state takes the money, and then you can go and claim it back. My smart wife just got $110 back this way. So... go do that!

e.g. the Washington state one is here: https://dor.wa.gov/about/news-releases/2023/dont-forget-check-your-missing-money

ALL of them hurt America -- and ALL of them were caused by Republicans in Congress.

Having failed to find a writing group to share my writing, I'm starting a Discord server: 'Makelings'

You don't have to write, but you have to be a maker. Write words. Make art. Any hobby which involves creating something rather than just consuming media from others.

I have no serious plan other than to create this and then see where it goes

ADHD people: switching between things very quickly.

also ADHD people: tasks must be challenging enough to be engaging, but not so challenging that it triggers frustration intolerance.

... this is literally impedance matching.

Since I've seen a lot of chatter about people switching to as Google ramps up the enshitification of , let me tell you about a killer feature for people who (a) need multiple accounts on the same websites (eg. devs) or specifically (b) have to use multiple Google accounts.

Firefox has an official addon called Multi Account Containers that lets you trivially set up color coded tabs that have separate sets of cookies. Log into your dev account in one, and your test account in another. Log into your personal in one and have another tab next to it with your work Gmail. I'm actually not signed in to any Google accounts in most my tabs, I just have containers for the specific tasks I do on Google products.

It'll take you 30 seconds to set up.

In “Petro-masculinity: Fossil Fuels and Authoritarian Desire” (2018), Cara Daggett explains why, with white men, denial and so often go together.

She makes a powerful argument that the patriarchal power structures in our society are deeply entwined with our fossil-fuel based economy.

    @slothrop

This is a well written and thoughtful article, that touches on a key point that other articles like this miss: It points out that "masculinity" as defined here, means "white masculinity,"

Non-white men are more likely to be alarmed about climate change than white women. 🙂🙃

In fact, non-white boomers and silent generation, are more concerned about climate change than white Gen-Z women. 🤦🏿‍♂️

So the primary driver of this climate denial is unlikely to be masculinity in general.

Once libraries are nonexistent any modern fascist movement wouldn't even have to burn books, but flick one switch and they'd be remotely deleted from your Amazon Kindle or similar digital “library”.

Capitalists are already building the infrastructure to do this through DRM, so stop believing tech is apolitical - the defunding of libraries and paywalling of information are all part of this. :trantifa:
