It's pretty unsavory how everybody talks about #MarketPlaces when it comes to platforms for distributing apps. I guess because of #DMA. But it's important to take a step back and appreciate that like many other #FOSS platforms #FDroid is not a maket place, it's a #commons.
@kiwix I don't think they can. So chances are there'll never be a true equivalent of the f-droid.org repo for iOS. It's really up to apple and legislators at this point. But with some compromise on tooling-freedom there's still a lot of potential for improving user freedom.
Finally, it's there: Blocking users has recently been added to #Codeberg, thanks to the #Forgejo team.
You feel offended or disturbed? Getting rid of them is just one button away.
Please be reminded: If the users are likely also a problem for other users, save them the trouble and report them to abuse@codeberg.org or by mentioning @moderation in an issue.
I've built an experimental prototype web-app for browsing #FDroid repositories. It only comes with a very limited set of features, but I'm quite happy how it turned out so far.
okay interesting, in Germen it's called "Öffi" in the Englisch translation it's "Offi". Is your phone set to English? AFIAK F-Droids search only indexes active translations by design.
When you mention #FairPhone you should also mention @shiftphones. They too build ethically sourced electronics including #SmartPhones with excellent repairability, but they also distribute #FOSS#Android ROMs for some of their phones.
