A native Floridian, I am fascinated by all forms of musical expression, but I cut my teeth on heavy metal. My first five shows were Dio, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth, and Exodus. I am an avid progger and free / classical jazz man, too. I welcome and encourage discussion.

While I'd say I am political, I make it a point to discuss such things on my blog, which I'll be setting up shortly.

I am a music gear nerd and Linux expert, questions are always welcome.

@HailsandAles The Brewers have consistently ruled that division by a small margin over the last few years. It was important for them to show Counsell and the Cubs what's what... ;>)

@HailsandAles I really don't know. It's not so much his duties in right field, it's his presence and skill at the plate and on the bags. He practically wills runs when he gets on. They'll move some guys to lead-off to see what sticks. We won the 2021 World Series without him, so no one is particularly worried that it can be done. Our biggest concern is the horrible May offensively...

@HailsandAles Sure. They're going to be tough with 3 pitchers absolutely shoving. Their offense is good, but will be better when Trea Turner returns. I usually watch their games, but I haven't been keeping up lately, so this is a good time to mention them. The NL East is really down to the Braves and Phillies. Normally, the Braves are the better team (playoffs notwithstanding), but the Phillies have really shaped themselves up leading into this season. And Bryce Harper appears to be healthy now.

Google's doing it to themselves. I predict that eventually (or even fairly soon) YouTube searches will be full of only AI-generated news and other things and will be completely unusable. Just tried looking up something and got only weird videos with AI characters badly speaking news. This is gonna be a mess

I've talked about Indianapolis' scuzz-punk kings BINGO BOYS before, but today I want to highlight their 2021 record 'More'. These songs are ALL bangers, as usual (fun fact about Bingo Boys, they don't even know how to write bad songs that aren't infectiously catchy).

I hope to someday be able to write a song that is as damn good as 'Glow' or 'Spidersac' here -- these tunes SMOKE. 🔥

Has anybody had success mounting a Windows 11 share using CIFS under Linux? I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong on the Windows end. The feature is installed, users / passwords is turned off, the Everyone group has read access. There is something I can try that's been bugging me, knowing how goofy Windows is. SAMBA is much easier to implement than this schlock...

Before work, I had Arthur rob a train with the bros and captured some bounties! While this was incredibly profitable, robbing trains will be a quest activity only. As it would be tricky to pull off well solo. Bounties are easier to capture and it helps me keep Arthur’s honor fairly high.

I upgraded my guns after getting this big payday; getting incredibly distracted due to random events out in the RDR2 world. One day, I’ll hunt small game for a quest. 🤣

@jake4480 I know, buddy... ;>) I love Hellraiser, too. TCM is a cool flick for what it is. I've never seen the sequels / prequels, but if any are Rob Zombie related, you can forget about it. I think his stuff is absolute garbage.

2024 marks the 45th anniversary of sci-fi horror masterpiece Alien, which was released May 25, 1979.

The first time I saw it I was pretty young, it was on TV and censored. We actually had it recorded on a VHS from TV, which is something my family did a lot. I only saw the full uncensored version years later! 😂

@jake4480 Agreed. I mean, what's the point if you're going to butcher a film? There's hardly any gore in 'Alien', and you absolutely cannot edit out the young alien's emergence.
