I saw last night celebrating its 45th anniversary. It's been a seriously long time since I've seen the film, and I don't know if I've ever seen it in a theatre.

The Fox logo at the beginning looks so weird, and the fanfare is a shorter version than the one I'm used to, but other than that, the film holds up really well. 1/2

Well-drawn characters, good actors, great set design and production design, terrific score and that amazing creature. I did jump once or twice, and it was so tense throughout so much of the film.

Before the film, showed a conversation / interview between (director of the upcoming ) and , mostly discussing aspects of the original film. I especially liked hearing about how got involved with the film. 2/2

Who doesn't love a good pop-up book; and–1 month from , why has Ridley Scott's movie never had one?

The used book market doesn't often see pop-ups in working condition. This one is 100% functional with a small, unintended fold of the frontal lobe. In other words, it has minor brain damage.

Watching the Pharaoh's treatment of the Israelites in 's it's impossible not to see in him, all the actions of today's genocidal Israel. And their God's treatment of the Egyptian's the same.

What if the story was meant to show the destruction this path creates for all, and make way for the message of , which seems more relevant in a shrinking world of limited resources, and where and serve as examples to the rest of us?

Scenes include Egyptians slaughtering people who are starving while they loot a granary.

Israel's God murdering Egyptian children en masse.

Etcetera.

Wonderful to revisit Blade Runner on the big screen again this evening, where it really belongs. Took chum along who had never seen it before. Those forty year old visuals are still stunning, the soundtrack by Vangelis iconic.

Interesting: all the English-speaking reviews of Napoleon seem to like it and all the French reviews hate it. 🤔
