Thankfully, not a lot going on this weekend. Getting my taxes done tomorrow afternoon, but that shouldn’t take long so I should have a lovely weekend of mostly doing nothing of significance to anyone.
When Al-Qaeda themselves claimed responsibility, even with overwhelming evidence aside? Why were so many people still reluctant, I was researching about this stuff and was shocked to see people who I respect a lot believe in this
As an American in Texas, I strongly support you not egging on these fucks that want to ruin MY HOME even more than they already are. The repuglicunts have been in power for 30 years and have drug this state down into the dirt with them.
For any company to exist, even a non-profit, it has to make some kind of income. That’s how our economic system works. It doesn’t matter how the company was founded, people still have to pay rent, so money’s gotta come in somehow.
I find it amazing how few companies don’t even give people a chance. I’m tech-inclined, but the only thing I have to my name is a Comptia A+ cert. However, I’ve also done a lot of things that are well beyond that skill set in a multitude of ways, and I also learn quite quickly. It’s tough to put ‘Hey, I managed a MYSQL database for a modded Minecraft server and I set everything up myself.’ on a resume. Nobody even bothers to read that because it mentions Minecraft, never mind the amount of actual work it takes to run a public-facing server like that with hundreds of active players logged in at once. It certainly isn’t ’just playing a video game’.

Maybe it’s just because I live in Texas and it’s 80 degrees outside in February, but I pretty much exclusively use that sheet. Blanket only ever covers my feet.
In April, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear a major case that could reshape how cities manage homelessness. The legal issue is whether they can fine or arrest people for sleeping outside if there’s no shelter available. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has deemed this cruel and unusual punishment, and this case is a...
The entire industry employs a great number of people. It’s not so simple to just ban all fossil fuels (even if it is what we need to do) and leave millions out of work. Think of how many industries rely on fossil fuels as well, just to move things or people around. All those jobs go bye-bye overnight too.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t ban fossil fuels, but the fallout from doing so needs to be addressed before it becomes a problem in the first place.
TGIF, what are your plans for the week-end?
