I have been having a profoundly bad week and I think the only thing that can counteract it is one of those moments like at the end of the first Digimon movie where everyone's internet friends send good vibes as a power-up so if people could spare some power-up energy for me that would be rad.
Does anyone have any recommendations for an automated way to alert me if I leave my garage door open? I'm thinking about either a magnetic contact switch sensor or a vibration / tilt sensor. I don't know if I can mount a magnetic switch sensor on the door though.

I've bought from that site before and have never had any problems (shipped to US).
For me, I bought a 10-pack of reed switches that look like these from AliExpress and put the magnet end on the garage door I think on my door, that part is metal, so it self-sticks and used a few blocks of wood to mount the sensor and then used some LED wire to run to an ESP8266 with ESPHome loaded up to connect it to Home Assistant.
DIY wins on cheapness and versatility since I also use it to also trigger the garage doors to open/close and sense motion, but that tilt sensor would probably beat it in convenience alone as long as the z-wave network is good.
@FritzAdalis
What type of issues are you running into?
What're you running it on?
@jerry
I'm cleaning up my server room. Coming up on "only" two years since we moved in & a lot of stuff I "temporarily" left in boxes or set up in a "temporary" configuration are still there and the entire flow of the room is off since nothing is where I'd have put it today!
Gotcha ... sorry, I'll be of no use. I run it on ProxMox and imported their qcow2 image and used that as my baseline and before that I ran Core (before it was named that) in venv's, but haven't run it as raw docker.
