No shocker - I hate the way it incorporates with the #fediverse as a whole and, at least currently, feels like it's working in (ish) bad faith.. that may change, but for now they are simply using us as potential eyeballs to boost their engagement numbers (esp for their "big accounts")

From my experience, it beats the absolute pants off of #BlueSky in terms of actual "topic" interaction
There are toxic folk here for sure, but the majority seem to leave quickly because of a smaller userbase, domain blocking, and unwillingness to "feed" them.
I have a small but great handful of folks I'm quite active here with .. it's sadly reduced over the last year, but the interaction here for me has always been more positive as a whole.. think I'll hang a round a bit longer.. 😂
@multiverseofbadness@jacklaridian There's a strong core here that can be foundational for later, but some folks have left and some check-in periodically (I turn on notifications for when they post, so I don't miss them).
Is anyone aware of a bot that counting the number of federated #Threads accounts? Just curious about the #Fediverse uptake by Threads users. Out of their puported hundred million users, I would anectdotally guess about 1000 users have voluntarily federated, but maybe you know better than me?
@FinchHaven I may have to roll my own bot. I'd like to know generally how many #Threads accounts have voluntarily federated. It seems to me that very few have.
I believe Flipboard will prove to be a counterweight to Threads and a prime location for news & pundits (as #Meta does not really desire the latter two on their platforms).
#threads is now properly working with #convocasa - I did not do anything so must have been something in their side. Thanks @paul for debugging back then though.

I don't like this move by #Threads. Limiting who can do #quoteposts pretty much defeats the purpose of quote posts in the first place.
Oh well, I'm confident that #Misskey will not adopt this beyond not allowing blocked users to quote a post by the user blocking them (which I disagree with btw), so this will not affect me thankfully and I can still quote Threads users as long as they haven't blocked me. :seija_coffee:
@mima Quote Posts is a better version of link preview, even Mastodon Clients (Mastodon doesnt have Quoted Posts on Server side) does Quoted Posts exactly like that. So preventing it is stupid and wont get adopted on all of the Server Softwares

Niewiele jest bardziej satysfakcjonujących komend od "git push".
Zapowiadana ostatnio aktualizacja Herbsmana pojawiła się w Internecie. Zawiera wszystko opisywane w poście pod tytułem "Raport z pracy I", czyli zmiany w menu, wyszukiwarkę oraz nowy dział i nowy artykuł zawierający opisy doświadczeń z Sinicuichi.
Do czasu, aż ogarnę się z instagramem i fb, usunąłem linki do nich ze strony głównej bloga. Ani trochę nie odnajduję się na tych platformach, ale dzisiaj to wciąż najlepszy sposób na dotarcie do szerszej grupy odbiorców.
Zarejestrowałem się też na #Threads . Podobno ma być kiedyś zintegrowane z protokołem Activity Pub, ale mam przeczucie, że wiele instancji Mastodona odetnie się od serwerów Mety.
Byłoby miło, gdyby istniała możliwość automatycznego publikowania treści z pol.social na Threads, abym nie musiał się tam logować i rejestrować. Widzę, że Buffer oferuje obsługę Mastodona, więc może jest na to szansa. Przetestuję i dam znać.
@herbsman: tutaj założyciel oraz SNM SVMetaSearch - nie twierdzę, że Facebook czy Instagram są potrzebne. Wręcz przeciwnie, można założyć, że każdy projekt, o ile dobrze promowany, dosięgnie również efekt tzw. marketingu wirusowego. Co za tym idzie - benefituje platforma, która wcześniej była bardzo niszowa. Taki win-win dla obu stron.
@svmetasearch Ciekawi mnie czy istnieje gdzieś strategia "wyciągania" ludzi z korporacyjnych social media. Poradnik odpowiadający na pytania w stylu - jak rozmawiać ze znajomymi o #Fediverse , przede wszystkim z tymi, którzy nie są biegli w obsłudze komputera. O korzyściach płynących z dołączenia do tej sieci, które nie skupiałyby się na prywatności czy wolności słowa, bo niestety te argumenty nie przemawiają do "zwykłych ludzi".
Ciekawi mnie też, co zyskują twórcy treści spędzając czas na publikowaniu na np. #polsocial . Oczywiście istnieje mniejsza szansa (niemal zerowa) na utratę kanału, ale co poza tym? Stosunek ryzyka do zysku wciąż przemawia na korzyść Mety czy TikToka.
Jest tutaj tak wielu uzdolnionych osób, więc pewnie ktoś już na takie pytania odpowiedział. Muszę poszukać, jakiś pomysł gdzie zacząć?

Che Threads venga su bene è una cosa positiva per il Fediverso, soprattutto quando Markino vorrà monetizzare (perché lo farà) e gli utenti si accorgeranno che il Fediverso non è solo Threads (un po' come i tromboni che continuano a ripetere che il Fediverso non è solo #Mastodon). 😆 😉
@eklektikos probabilmente finchè saranno in fase di espansione non metteranno publicità, rimarrà un'oasi pulita per incentivare la migrazione da twitter.
Potranno andare avanti anche anni senza mettere pubblicità fino a distruggere twitter e avere un monopolio dei social.
e infatti la federazione col fediverso servirà propriio come scudo antitrust per difendersi da eventuali accuse, mica scemo il zucchino 😁
