The only solution is going need to be a change to IP laws. Drug companies are price gouging while doing research to develop with public money. They are down locking the production so we cant have them doing that anymore.
Prime example is the guy, Ronald Plasterk, who almost became Prime Minister of the Netherlands.. patented under his name the cancer medicine he didn't invent, then earned 32 million Euro when selling his company. Amsterdam Medical Center and researcher who did the work, got nothing.
Now he resigned his candidacy with a "I did nothing wrong, acted with integrity". And under hypercapitalism what he did is indeed normal, the norm. 😡

The existence of Trump looming in the horizon should not be used as "get out of jail" card for Biden when he's doing bad stuff.
There will always be someone worse, doesn't mean the alternative to worse should be bad.
America being a scuffed democracy with laughable choices of presidents shouldn't be an excuse to turn the blind eye to one of the presidential candidates actively endorsing and supporting wanton slaughter of Palestinians civilians.
And what I mean by this is: I get you don't have much choice on that matter. It's either him or Trump. But that doesn't mean Biden is a good choice and the fact he's doing all that shit during the political campaign is worrisome. I'm just afraid once he secured another term the slaughter will become even more brutal.
Joe Biden could still turn this around and not lose to Trump by defunding Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people. If he doesn’t, there will be only person to blame for Joe Biden losing to Trump in six months and that’s Joe “I am a Zionist” Biden.

This is great but can we please also have Fedora (& Ubuntu, etc.) acknowledge they started shipping operating systems without a functional screen reader when they switched to Wayland and that that’s still the case?
This is not to name and shame. Unless we acknowledge this as an error on par with shipping without monitor support and unless the culture is altered to make accessibility a showstopper, it’ll happen again.
@aral Again, I agree that accessibility is of utmost importance and that cultural changes are needed to emphasize it from the beginning. I just think systems that need some non-default configuration for a functional screen reader are importantly different than "operating systems without a functional screen reader".
Both X and Wayland have limitations that in some use-cases make them not viable. Until Wayland catches up, we each get to decide if we prefer Wayland's bugs or X's bugs.
@LiberalArtist All I’m saying is that if you believe that, then shipping with Wayland without monitor support is also different than “operating systems without functional monitor support.” (Unless your point is that there are different criteria for what is acceptable for sighted people – which, clearly, is the case because those operating systems are shipping with monitor support by default but without screen reader support.)
What if we changed the rules so that if a US presidential candidate that supports arming Israel’s ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people wins, 15,000 American kids are randomly chosen and killed. (Unlike Palestinian kids, they’d be killed as painlessly as possible, not screaming in anguish from having been blown apart by American bombs.)
What would you do? Still vote for Biden as is or move heaven and earth to have him change his policies and/or get the Democrats to pick another candidate?
