Just about one year ago I joined Mastodon. Like so many other folks, during the mass exodus.

@skinnylatte The house as it is now is pretty great, of course. It would have been fitting if the original house had been preserved as a historic landmark, tho. Many other houses with ties to influential ppl have been so designated with far slimmer connections than Ansel Adams had to his childhood home. His wanderings there growing up profoundly influenced his future work, worldview, and advocacy of public lands and parks. I'm kind of surprised it wasn't preserved, tbh.

I feel like I’ve really nailed my color processing workflow.

I only use the Bellini C-41 kit (personal pref to have the bleach and fix separate. I’m sure other kits work well too but I like this one most).

I’m happy with the results. On 35mm, I scan at home with a Plustek scanner (tried every scanning option and hated this the least). For medium format I collect enough rolls to go to Photolaundry in SF where I can rent a Fuji Frontier for $20/h.

@skinnylatte I appreciate that you've shared your experiences with dev and processing and it's been great to see your photos and experimentation. Is it pretty easy to keep dust out of the Plustek? The Epson will handle all my formats so far, but boy howdy the dust.

"The dark circle near the top of the atmospherically-reddened Sun is the Moon -- but so is the dark peak just below it. This is because along the way, the Earth's atmosphere had a layer of unusually warm air over the sea which acted like a gigantic lens and created a second image. This rare phenomenon of atmospheric optics is known as the Etruscan vase effect."
